Haelp!!!!
I have a sony cyber shot camera. When I turn it on, I can hear it come on, but there is just blackness in the display screen. I took a picture=blackness. I took out the batteries and rebooted it....still blackness....I shook the bugger....still blackness.
I called sony and had to go through about 10 minutes answering question to an automated voice, just to be told they are closed and to call back.

Has any one else had this happen to them???

Are there different settings on it, sweets, like Playback and picture taking? Maybe make sure it is on picture taking?

Or take the lens cap off?

Just shooting in the dark here....

I've got everything on and correct....I've got a feeling it's the inner workings of the camera...BOLLOCKS!!!!!

if you have had the camera for a while and it just started doing this, you are probably right  :( bummer

Is it a new camera? Do you have an instruction booklet?

Either Sean is right, Don is right, You are right, or there's some damned tiny little button you're not pressing right. Got several digi-cam's, and they're all harder than a remote control to figure out. With any luck, it's the damned camera that's broke, and you can finally resolve this life conflict issue from hell.

And that is why after spending a ton of money on this crap, i have learned to buy those teeney throw away cameras at Genovese ;;D.

I was thinkin of buying a tri-pod for my minolta (brian got me a Zooooooooom lenze which i still have trouble with)........+ --  i shot an entire roll of film without actually loading the film [smiley=huh.gif])  ..........picture the look on my face when the hotel guy kindly offered to "rewind' the "no film"....that little handle spinning around and around and around................. 8)

Bitch, winge, whine and complain.
Thank you Eric for the online support suggestion.
They told me it would be a flat fee of $124 to fix it, this does not include any parts that may be needed.
My ex boyfriend bought me this camera two christmases ago for $358.
I can go buy an upgraded camera for $129.  (different make)...so it's off Best Buy I go tomorrow.

Now I'm gonna take a bath and relax. Or shine me shoes, whichever takes my fancy.

Thanks everyone for listening to me moan about electronics......AGAIN!!!!

I have a CyberShot, too..but never had that problem!!  Once I got confused because I had managed to turn the LCD screen off by mistake, but now it is all good!

If you're gonna throw the old camera away, ya can send it to me, and I could see if I can get it workin'.  Of course, I'd prolly not have any better luck than you, but at least I'd give it a good home in my Pile of Worthless Broken Shit.  LOL
