Title: POTD 10-01-04
Post by ExplodingEyeBall on Oct 1st, 2004, 8:46am
OK...

I took these on the way to work this morning.

The sunrise as seen from the corner of my street. Damn power lines ruin it.

A restored train depot I drive past every morning.

Another shot of the sunrise.

I think the power lines add some symetry(sp) to the first picture.  Look again, I think the more you look, the more you will like them.

You have an excellent point there. They do kind of add some perspective and depth to the picture.

Thanks for opening my eyes.

Pat

I agree, that's a great photo!

I agree with Thomas.  The power-lines make the picture.

2nd picture... needs more power lines.

More important than the symmetry, it starts your eyes to move around.   As does the fence and the curb. There's a visual rhythm.
At first your/my eyes converge on the focal point, but then the other wires take my eyes out of the picture, and then back in... it's almost like a musical measure repeating.... and in between they follow the sweep of the clouds and the next time it's the silhouette of the trees....  I like the way the fence works in the third one as well.

I'm glad that you guys like the pics.

I took them from the drivers window of my car this morning.

I found this one on achenet.org.

Do you think the artist suffers from CH???

Mel...

Those are actually sinrise pictures I took this morning on my way to work. It's easy to mistake one for the other.

I'm glad you like them. Aren't digital cameras great???

BTW:I'm waiting to see what you have for us today from your new camera.

Woops!  I'm sorry! :-[  I think that because sunset pics are numerous, I use the word out of habit, LOL!  As for pics with my camera, I posted them in the other thread.  I didn't want to intrude on your beautiful art!

mel....

Don't worry about intruding on my art. I love to look at pictures that other people take too.

You've been putting up some great ones.

I'm just an amature at this.

My stuff don't compare to vigs, jhammers, or yours.

Here's some of our friends that hang out in the Library's parking lot.

I really love that first one with the power lines!  The more I see it, the more beautiful it looks!  Kinda like nature and man meet, but it can still be beautiful afterall ;)

Thanks Pat, that's real sweet of you. :)  Unfortunately, my camera doesn't do too well with action shots because the shutter speed is too slow, but you get what you pay for, LOL!  BTW, I like the geese!

Here is one of last nights sunset...

That is the only good thing about getting up at 2:45 am to be at work at 4 am....great sunrise pics...I have hundreds of them all untouched.

Lately the beast wont allow me to get up that early for work, instead he wants to dance.....I dance well.....LOL ;;D

I installed my software in one of the deaf and hard of hearing classrooms today, I love seeing the kids reaction.  It's rare for deaf students to get anything valuable in their classrooms, especially the kind of technology that comes with this software delivery.  I love my job.  ;)

Jeep, this is for you.  My friend traveling with me took this photo of the hummer, he thought it was very cool.  I thought you would appreciate the ironic bird terd captured in the foreground.  ;;D

Hilarious, John! *flipping the ol' "double-barrel" at the dHummer*  [smiley=laugh.gif]

How excellent that you work with those kids, John. It takes a special sort of person to be able to do that. Hats off to you...

Sean, I use to play "What A Wonderful World," on the piano all the time. :) It made me eyes get a bit misty, though... Seriously. *blush*
