Title: To my husband Post by dynasty on Sep 30th, 2004, 9:09pm Okay so this is my first post so please bear with me... I just need my husband Scott to know just how much I care about him and love him! He is a episodic cluster migraine sufferer gone chronic :( This man is amazing! He's 32 years old, we have been married 9 yrs this past August, we have a beautiful 4 yr old daughter. We have been together 13 yrs... and I have watched him go through these time and time again. I feel so helpless, yet the only thing I know how to do is let him know I am here. Now he has gone chronic. We have FINALLY found a neurologist that is doing everything he can to help us, however, we are at the Litium point. Though this medication scares me, I will never ever deny him getting the relief he needs. Please say prayers that this is the one that helps. The reason I am posting though is to tell him this: Scott, I LOVE YOU!!! You are my life, my love, my best friend, my EVERYTHING! You are NEVER a burden, NEVER. I am your wife and I am proud!!!! Baby, whatever, or where ever you need me I am there. We will get through this, we always do!. You are the strongest person I have ever known, don't give up! Aly and I love so very very much........ We will do this, we will fight it, and together WE WILL BEAT IT!!! I promise you! Just remember your support is here! I love you baby.,... don't you ever think anything else! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!! Title: Re: To my husband Post by jhammer on Sep 30th, 2004, 9:16pm Welcome to the board Dynasty, and may I say that Scott is lucky to have someone as supportive you behind him. One word of advice though, don't use the terms 'cluster' and 'migraine' in the same description. I personally have no experience with the Lithium, but I've read about it as a treatment. Everyone here reacts different to different treatments, that's half the problem with these damn things. I hope he finds what works for him soon. ~Hammer |

Title: Re: To my husband Post by Jayne on Sep 30th, 2004, 10:20pm Hi Dynasty. I too am chronic, and 10 months ago my doctor said to try Lithium (and verapamil). I was very leery about taking lithium. 10 months later I can say this has been my best year ever as a sufferer. I have NO side effects from the drug. I am on 450 mg of Lithium and 360 mg of verapamil per day. Now I love the stuff. I just don't go around announcing to non sufferers that I am on that drug. A lot of chronics have noticed that we get cycles within our chronicness....meaning at sometimes it's worse than others, so It might not be that your drugs have quit working. He is lucky he has you. No sweety u probably don't know Scott. However, he does know you guys. He is here on these boards, and website just about everyday. We came across this site back in March, and have been here ever since. With that in mind, please let me extend my thank you for all the kind words. Also, thank you for all the unknowing support you have given my husband. It is because of this site, and these boards we have learned so much. And the support of knowing that he is not alone, has helped him to find the strength to fight "the beast" (this is the correct term right lol) :) Thanks again, and I wish all of you only pain free days and happiness...... I will have you all in my prayers |

Take care and feel free to post here anytime, or if not, you can always drop me an email at mfiltz@isp.com anytime you want to talk. Title: Re: To my husband Post by Callico_Kid on Oct 1st, 2004, 1:57am Welcome to you both. Thank you for being a supporter. There are so many here who have had a far different response from their spouse, and it is so refreshing to see someone else who will stand with her man. (There are a lot of spouses that DO support. I don't mean to diminish them. I honor them greatly, especially theo ones who make it a point to be a part of this great board.) Don't be afraid of the Lithium. It has a bit of a reputation due to its use for phychotic treatments, but it has been a real Godsend tome for the clusters. The only side effects I have had from it are that is makes my coffee taste a little funny, and I notice a slight tremor in my hands on occasion. I would not think of giving it up at all now. Verap and Lithium have made my life liveable again. Jerry |

Title: Re: To my husband Post by K-9 on Oct 1st, 2004, 2:36am WOW Dynasty, that was like enough love and support for all of us. Very refreshing. You're very strong!!!! You and Scott both!! ;) I have been chronic and did use Lithium for about four years when I was at one of my worst periods. Not too many side effect for me, and it didn't "stop" my ha but man did it regulate it. I thought I could set my watch to the beast before, but after being on Lith, It helped me to better 'plan' my life. I say give it a try!!! Welcome to both of you!! Chuck |
