Yeah, I was reading about that on CNN yesterday. It would be great to have an objective measurement of our pain. That way, we wouldn't be put through the humiliation of being told that we're faking it, that our pain levels are impossible, that we are malingering, or that we are narcotics junkies.

Another great use for this device would be to weed out the addicts that are "faking" pain to get a fix. Thus making it easier for Chronic Pain Patients to get the much needed relief they deserve, without a physicians fear of prescribing to a Junkie.

Science IS wonderful!!!

Spinal Tap - Why don't you just make 10 that much louder?

But these go to 11.

We would set a new standar for that machine!

I found it interesting in one of the articles or maybe it was a video that someone posted a while back about the machine that inflicts pain through electrodes... The docs had the cluster patient put it on and tell them when it got as bad as a cluster, and he finally said OK when the machine reached 9. Then the docs put it on and slowly turned it up to try to understand how bad the pain was... If I remember correctly they got no higher than 6, and it left them on the floor crying in agony.
