Title: Canadian "newbie!"
Post by avonlea63 on Sep 29th, 2004, 8:12pm
Hi out there in Clusterland! I have suffered for about 3 years with horrible, horrible headaches and have tried amost every med out there. I would constantly explain to my Doc how it felt like a knife in my left eye, how they would go away only to come back just when I thought it was over, how I would cry and cry because no one understood the pain. WOW, now I am finally going to see a neurologist. About time, eh? I am so glad that someone mentioned these cluster headaches. I am also glad that I checked this site out and see that what you all describe is exactly how I've been feeling! I'm not alone!! I feel better just reading your letters. Thanks. Canadian Clusterhead

And hello from another Canadian.  Actually, I live about 30 minutes away from you.

Who are you seeing for a neuro?  You will be asked if you've checked out all the information areas to the left of the screen.  There's a ton of helpful information for you there.

We also have a Canadian site that you might want to check out.

We're beginning to get enough of us now in the GTA to actually arrange a meeting!  You won't know what you've missed until you've met another sufferer.

Hope you have a good supporter in your corner.

I'm not sure yet who my neurologist is. I will find out on Monday. I'll let you know. Thanks also for letting me know to check out the info to the left beforehand. What's the Canadian site address?

I'm so glad you found this safe harbour. Very best wishes with your neuro, too. Let us know how it goes. Hope you get some good results and some medication that will blunt the pain.  :-/

Welcome aboard.  Wish you weren't here! ;;D But then I wish none of us were.

Wish you the best with the Neuro.  Check the information on Oxygen particularly.  It's cheap, effective for many of us if used right, and it has no side effects.

Keep us posted.

Jerry

Wow, thanks for all the advice and warm welcomes. I will keep you all posted on which neuro I get. Right now my Doc has tried me on Zomeg and Fiorinal with somewhat good results. Imitrex did not help, nor Maltinol (don't remember the correct name :P). Let's hope we all have a good weekend!
