Title: Who's the oldest active clusterhead? Post by Bob P on Sep 29th, 2004, 5:13pm Paco asked me today who the oldest clusterhead is that is still getting hit. Paco is 68 and has been getting hit for the past few months (or maybe he's 86). Anyway, who's the oldest active clusterhead that you know of? (I think Paco is looking for something to hang his hat on). |

Title: Re: Who's the oldest active clusterhead? Post by Filbert on Sep 29th, 2004, 9:06pm Sorry to spoil this party but when I was at last diagnosed by Prof. Goadsby last year after many, many years of episodic attacks I asked him if there was any hope of an improvement in later life and he responded by saying that his oldest patient was 96 who had been painfree for 15 years but had come back into cycle :o I have no idea how "active" he is at the current time however. He may post here from time to time who knows? Filbert. |

Would the symptoms be the same? I'd think bowel problems, bad gas or stuff like that but never would I imagine a baby having cluster headaches. |

Title: Re: Who's the oldest active clusterhead? Post by Tom K on Sep 30th, 2004, 5:18pm I can't imagine having a 1 year old and seeing them go through this. They can't communicate what is happening...breaks my heart. I did see a small child in the waiting room at a dr's office one time that was supposed to have a Pediatric Migraine. The poor thing was screaming so bad, thought the glass in the office was going to break. Kinda made me see that mine weren't that bad and at least I could pop a Trex when I needed it. T |

Title: Re: Who's the oldest active clusterhead? Post by Donna H. on Oct 2nd, 2004, 12:01pm It's really hard for me to talk about little children in pain after my daughters' losing an 8 month old twin. Although he didn' t have clusters, he was damaged at birth and the ventricals in his head closed up during a brain bleed, causing him to have a series of three shunts placed in his head. He did have severe headaches from the cerebral pressure of the spinal fluid build up in his head, and he cried most of his little life. To have a child with clusters is a horrible thought. It would wrentch the guts out of any parent. We have heard, from time to time, from parents of children who showed a rhythm and pattern convincing of cluster headaches. We do have a catgory here in Clusterville just for parents of children with what are thought to be cluster headaches. Just look down this page right under the Supporters Corner. Also, check out the Family Services section on the OUCH site. These areas are both the wonderful ideas of our Margi Storey who recently initiated the OUCH Canada site. Our ch.com and OUCH sites are truly the greatest things that could happen to cluster sufferers and their supporters. Get to know the sites.....they're worth their weight in gold. Donna H |
