Title: Hi guys Post by suppain on Sep 29th, 2004, 5:01pm I was looking in the internet and found this site about cluster headaches. I have been suffering from this for the past three to four years. I get them once a year for about five to six weeks. I thought I was crazy by thinking this was possible. The same pain at the same time every night of the week. Sometimes twice in the same night. When I read the symptoms, I thought they were specifically talking about me. The reason I am here now is because I am in my third week of episodes of this year. I am going crazy. I apply bengay to my forehead and the back of my neck, keep a bottle of Advil Migraine in my night table. It looks like a sick man night table. Does anybody has any recommendation for prevention? |

Title: Re: Hi guys Post by Jeepgun on Sep 29th, 2004, 5:08pm I am episodic too. Welcome to the board... Sorry you had reason to search us out. My suggestion is to print out the medical info, use a hi-lighter to mark your symptoms, and hi-light the effective preventative and abortive medications, and then make a visit to your general practitioner. For me, a low dose of verapamil was like receiving a miracle.... Very best wishes to you. I hope you are able to become (and remain) pain-free. -Frank |

If this is your "arsenal" against the pain of Cluster Headaches" you really need to read the links to the left of the post you are now reading. There is a lot more out there than Advil, (I never heard of using Ben-gay) that will help a lot more. Please take advantage of the years of knowledge we all have here between us, to give you this help. You will find it nowhere else, not even at your Neurologists office. Y ou only have one post to your name. I hope it will only take til your second post to be more informed. Good luck reading my friend. Ask questions and we'll all be here when you get back. In fact, we'll leave the light on. Linda |

Title: Re: Hi guys Post by Charlie on Sep 29th, 2004, 6:41pm Welcome to the madhouse, I suggest you look around here........a lot. You will find a lot of good ideas for dealing with this horror. Ben Gay won't be one of them. The medical information here is profound and perhaps some printouts will help. Let us know how you're getting along. Charlie |
