Title: Rant (not CH) Post by Charlie on Sep 24th, 2004, 2:47pm In case anyone has been wondering why I'm not replying much, it's medical. Nothing dangerous but very annoying. I had an MRI on Tuesday which as far as I know went well. It was just a precaution. What I didn't count on it screwing up my hearing. Ever since the test, my ears have be ringing. It's not just a little ring, It's LOUD. They used earplugs and were careful, I guess. It was loud but not painful or something I didn't think I could handle or really that uncomfortable. Nevertheless, this thing has obviously done some damage. I'm going to see the doctor soon but I'm not sure they can do much. I don't know what I will be like if I have to live with this for any length of time. Rats. Charlie |

Title: Re: Rant (not CH) Post by Jeepgun on Sep 24th, 2004, 3:03pm Yeah, but tinnitus is so annoying, particularly if you've never had it and have enjoyed unimpaired hearing, thus far. |

You don't know how right you are!!! 30+ years of guitar and drums.... Add over 10 years of working construction. I don't remember what silence is like. Sometimes the roar of tinitus is so overwhelming when I'm trying to sleep that I have to get up for a while. Charlie......... I hope it's temporary. Pat |

Title: Re: Rant (not CH) Post by Jayne on Sep 24th, 2004, 7:26pm well I pray for you that it's not tinnitus. If they have indeed given you this condition I seriously would concider suing them. My father has tinnitus. He got it from his job. He only walked away with five thousand pounds (settled out of court) and his condition has worsened over the years. So if you do sue, don't settle. He was at one point suicidal with it. Now the only way he can get to sleep on a night is to drink a bottle of red wine. I don't say this to scare you Charlie, I just want you to be informed incase it is indeed tinnitus. I am sorry this is happening to you, after talking in great legnth about it with my father tinnitus is not an little condition. Let us know what goes on with you, and get a second opinion from another doctors office about your ears. Much love Jayne P.s and you never know it could just clear up which I pray it does. Love ya Charlie Bear Jayne |

Title: Re: Rant (not CH) Post by BarbaraD on Sep 25th, 2004, 7:26am Sorry to hear this Charlie. Ok, home remedy time..... (you know how mom's are!) try taking some Niciacin (500-1000mg) daily. They have the time release and no flush ones. Sometimes this will help. It ain't gonna hurt you and it may help. Go ahead - be a big boy -- try it....... If it doesn't work -- then sue the devil out of 'em. Hugs BD |
