It was 27 degrees this morning here.Sure makes the cows snivel,but not me,I think my cycle is about to end.

Yep. Coldest summer I can recall here in PA.

When are we supposed to start seeing the benefits of all this 'global warming' we keep hearing about?

Global warming doesn't mean it will always be warm everywhere. It means an average increase of a few degrees, often in areas where the winter low is -20 and the highs in summer hit 105.

Worst season for tropical storms on record.

Global warming... Hrmmm... I really think that this has more to do with the earth's natural cycles than with anything the puny little human race is/is not doing. I'm not saying we shouldn't be concerned about the environment, but I think much ado is being made over prognostications that have been made by plugging figures into computers and then reacting to the results as though they are factual science.

I've also read several books that deal with historical weather and a couple of them contained accounts of explorers writing about orange groves on the coast of the continent of Antarctica.

Vet glad to hear the cycle is on the back swing. As far as the cold..............BRING IT ON!!! Dave would be happy if it would stay a balmey 80! Not me baby the colder the better. Ya cant snuggle when its 80! LOL

It was the coolest summer I can remember here too. It's been in the 70s today. Warm for Sept.

Of all the things you can bring up; global warming is hard for me. I'll leave it to you folks.

I've had cycles in the coldest part of winter. Just saves the need for a ice pack. Just go outside and let your head freeeeze.

btw Floridians right. I work on scientific instruments that fly on our weather satellites that measure the increase in temperature and the type and quantity of gases in the atmosphere.

My cycle is about to begin shortly, just in time for the holidays. Felt my first glimps of the hard core bastard today. Sun got brighter, nose shut down, gums got numb, teary eye but only mild pain. He's lurking guys, hopefully he holds off for a little while.

Ice Ages are caused by eccentricities in the orbit of the Earth. Every 100,000 years or so the Earth (because of gravitational pull of the Sun, Moon) goes from a nearly circular pattern to a more oblong pattern. And the tilt of the axis wobbles over time as well. This combination puts the Earth farther out from the sun - hence longer, colder periods of weather.There's more to it than that but that kinda sums it up.

I was always used to a 4 week cycle in the spring followed by a nice long break until the fall which I got hit again then winter was my salvation. This time I got hit near end of May(thought I skipped the spring) and I'm still in....So I'm hoping that based on that, maybe the cold will knock this thing out...If not, F it!! and bring me comfortable 60's ;)
