Hi Friends,

Back in my own abode. Kathy so desperately wants to ‘help/nurse’ me, but I do not make a good patient. Just don’t like people fussing over me. Had a hard time with the PT people in the hospital too.

All in all, things went pretty well. Have a new titanium knee, an 8 inch cut closed with 47 staples, a 5 month handicap parking sticker and now 2 months of physical therapy to deal with.

Had one very bad night…so bad I was telling the nurse that if she couldn’t get me something for pain she should just shoot me…..gawd what a bad night it was. No lie…worse than a 1:30pm to 11pm CH!!! I went through 100mg morphine, 30mg dilauded, 280mg Oxycontin and a host of other meds to no avail. They were afraid of a blood clot, so during all of the pain, I had to be still while they did an ultrasound on the entire leg…thankfully it came out negative.

Nurse and PT tech showing up at the house for the next 3 weeks. Have to have blood drawn every other day to monitor the effects of the Coumadin [blood thinner]. The nurse told me that is what is used to kill rats!

It’s good to be home and back on-line. Thanks for all of your well-wishes and peace to you all.

Now you're like the X-Men's Wolverine with the metal skeleton.  Tougher than before.  and he heals quickly too.

Good luck, you need anything, you just speak up.

Coumadin?? Stay away from sharp objects!!  2 blood clots in my left arm this past January bought me 4 months on the rat poison!!!!  Can't say I enjoyed that time! LOL

Glad to hear you are home, now listen to Kathy and get better! ;)

Hugz,
Carrie/Lizzie2 :)

Glad you are home and doing ok Dan!  If you kneed anything let me know.

You have helped me make up my mind too...between your tale and Zazi's I am going to opt out of the knee surgery!  My knees may not work real well, and they hurt but they don't hurt like a CH!  Who needs to walk anyway?
