I get a kick out of how they up-play everything. I guess its become a form of entertainment. Its almost soap opera material ;;D

They scare the shit out of you when you are in the storm. During frances the local news guy kept saying how 'it does not look good' for T-ville; it's like ok, what am I supposed to do about it now in the middle of the storm? ::)

Y'all are missing the point of this whole television thing. The content doesn't matter. It's the GOD DAMNED COMMERCIALS that dikk-tate the programming. Without the GOD DAMNED COMMERCIALS there'd be no TV. Hurricanes, wars, incest, murder, incestual murder..........it's still all about the GOD DAMNED COMMERCIALS.

So Frank, my husband wants to know if that means your getting pay per view this weekend for the big boxing match (Hopkins vs De La Hoya)? We don't have a tv so I have been blessed with not having to watch the storms. However, I was at my mother-in-laws house a couple of weeks ago and she had the weather channel on. I was privleged to see one news guy get blown into the weather channels news guy. It was hillarious.

I'm not going to pay to watch it, but I feel like Sean does. He's an impressive boxer, but he's also a big whine-baby. When he loses, he can't be a man about it and say, "Well, the other guy was the better man tonight." Nope. He's gotta start crying and whining and fire his whole training camp. Hopkins is going to eat him alive and spit the pieces into the spit-bucket.

Hopkins is the shiznit. I've been watching that guy for years, fighting up through the rankings, watching all the other wimps avoiding him and not giving him a chance... As much as I really didn't like Felix Trinidad, at least Trinidad had the moxy to step up and give Hopkins a shot. To his credit, I have to say the same for Oscar Delahoya; that he's not ducking Hopkins. I still think Hopkins is going out to kick some serious ass!! WHOOYEAH!!

I liked the wild cat picture deal Hap ! Anyhow......my satillite goes OUT cold when it rains......even a light rain now. Guess what were expecting this weekend ? And a weather caster or two may go flying by Pam

That one guy was jumpin up and down all excited and yellin like the crock hunter does......and he was standin along the beach in the storm.....or trying ! Suprised they don't try to tie themselves to the docks so they can get minute to minute first hand live coverage as it happens.

john....is Titusville gonna get hit very hard......my friend decided to stay this time again that lives there.

The one nite the one guy was outside all excited under somethin doin his live report and a piece of sideing or sumthing come blowin in and he RAN OFF out of the camera view.....that was funny. When it moved again he jumped . Think he needs a little more training in hurricane edicate. Was jus a wee piece Pam

My freind in Pensicola called me durein the storm on his cell phone.....I bout shit.....real lousey reception and he kept fadin in and out bad but.....man that was crazy !!! He's 10 miles inland. Was in his truck listenin to the weather cuz all power is out of course......said he was gettin 70 mph winds at the time and had to go find the dog that was dartin all around like an idiot he jus let out the door. Said trees were down on the shed ect and more wobblin like they may fall soon. At least I know he is ok cuz I jus KNEW he wouldn't go to to a shelter. Now....I wonder where this new hurricane is going ???

In Japan, during typhoons, the newscasters would always be right out in the middle of it, broadcasting. It never failed that they would get some 98lb. waif of a rookie to do it and she'd be getting blown all over the place. LOL! A gust of wind blew EVERYONE down, once. I about pissed myself laughing... LOL

I swear that I just heard this on a weathercast somewhere:

"How much damage can we expect from this hurricane, Bob?"
"Well it depends on how strong the hurricane is."

I'm so happy to have cable or I'd miss all this scintillating discourse.

Hap is right. Hurricanes make a great place to sell anti- depressant drugs, insurance, and DIY home maintenance stuff.

At least it's a break from California kidnapping/murder trials. Kinda sad that we make disasters into such entertainment.

ROFL, Charlie! Funny how, with all of the newest and latest technology, weather forecasting just seems to get worse and less accurate every year. Why don't they all just admit that they don't know what the hell is going on, and that they pick their forecasts by blindfolding themselves and throwing darts at a board? [smiley=laugh.gif]

I seen pics of some of it john and it was unreal......nothng but a big mess left.....looked like a big landfill !!!!! Wonder what this new one has is store ? I think Florida will be spared......but what about my east coast vacation comeing up...........wah !! Anyhow.....Brad's leavein SC Fri. mornin and worried he mite have ta drive thru some of that rain and flooding. Callin for 10 to 15 inches...huh ??? Am sure a few roads will be out and trees down on his route unless he is ahead of it. Not sure they will find a hotel tho for the nite till they get closer to Ohio.......sheesh !!! In Ohio we been gettin bad tornado's in November that wipe everything out......some of the scariest storms we've had the past two Novembers and they both were close to here. Big wide hell bound tornado's I have nitemares about. What's this world comein to Pam :-/
