Steve, I saw your post yesterday on the other thread...but if possible, can you check in today?

I do have yours and Edna's phone #'s.....but I have no info on Doug.

If you guys are staying....please let me know! New Orleans ain't worth a damn in a hurricane! I'll be calling you, if I don't see you respond here.

Jean, you aren't exactly sitting in the best location either. Are you thinking about making a trip up north for a while? Be safe, dear. I haven't heard from Edna in a couple of days, so I suspect that she and her family have evacuated.

Frank,

Storm would have to come in more to the west for us to be in too much danger. I'm about 75 miles inland, and a storm in the Galveston area west to about Corpus Christi would have an impact on us.

However, New Orleans is below sea level....and also bordered on one side by the gulf and the other side by Lake Ponchatrain. So, those folks can get a double whammy. I know that Edna is in Raceland.....but that's not too far from N.O. Steve and DougL are in the Mandeville area.

Think I'll try Steve on his cell......and try Edna at home. Danny works offshore.....but I think they brought those folks in a couple days ago.

Kinda weird.....seeing I-10 traffic.....all lanes, moving in the same direction.

Vibes to the Cajuns.....think I'll make those phone calls now. ;)

Dianne and I are going to hunker down at a friends house just up the road. Our house in in a forest of trees and don't want to be in it if the pines start snapping.

I e-mailed Edna and I assume she got out cause I have not heard back. I don't know about DougL. He too moved to the Northshore (above sea level) and posted the other day.

We are as ready as we can be. It just a matter of time now.

I hope my pin is still on the CH map on friday. *Nervous laugh off.*

Can't get hold of Steve & Dianne.....left a message on his cell.

Talked to Edna.....Danny's home and they have decided to stay and weather the storm. They are not expecting the bad shit till later tonight.

I'll be talkin' to Edna later this evening......and hoping to hear from Steve & Dianne. I know that Doug works at a hotel in the Quarter.....I think that area has been evacuated, so maybe he's ok [smiley=huh.gif].

As of now Hurricane Ivan is pounding four states as a cat 4, if you have a minute please send prayers or vibes to our fellow clusterheads in it's path. It's a monster.

Thanks to ALL of you wonderful people.

I've even heard from Tracey in Florida telling me to get my ass on outta here.

Don't worry about me, I'm fine. YOU HEAR SVENN??? ;;D

It's a pretty scary thing, and it's always good to know you're not taking a direct hit. Still sad to see others have to endure it though.

AL people gonna be getting pounded hard. Wishing all there the best.

Can't thank you all enough for your concern and phone calls.

So far......so good.....expecting to get a little rougher winds and rain later tonight.

I'm bunkered down, and ready.

I love you all. And, please, let's all keep praying for the people nearer Alabama, and all the evacuees and people in the wake of such a strong "IVAN"

I "AM" higher ground where I am. That's why my parents came here to wait it out with us.

We were very lucky.

I'm going to bed to get rest (Jean woke me up this morning...lol....luv ya Jean)

It's 1 a.m. here, no more winds, absolutely NO rain at all here. Feel rather safe, only worry for me left is making sure the rest of my family make it back home (brother and sisters and their families)

New Orleans is getting bashed with lots of water near Lake Ponchatrain. All I know for now.

Hope all is well with Doug, haven't heard from him yet.

Steve, hope no trees knocked around at home for you.

Still praying for the others in the path of Ivan.

Yall thanks for being concirned about me!
I had to go to work that morning and disconect all the computers
for my office and so did my partner Rocky.
We left the city at noon to go home to leave for Houston.
It took us 3 1/2hrs to get from N.O. to Covington. Normaly a 45min drive.
Needless to say 1 valume each on the drive home to pick up the pets. Then we had a 19 hour drive to my sisters house in Houston.
Next time to hell with work i'm leaving when the getting is good.
My phone number is 504-975-4869 if anyone would like to reach me. I no longer have my own email add as i have to keep the internet to a min these days and still do not have a computer at home. One day maybe for xmas i will get one.
