Started at age 20, now 31, chronic, although, the last few years have been a little bit better than the first five years.  What ever happened to, "you grow out of them before your thirties."?  That didn't happen.  :-/

Me either. Um... Then again, I've never been pregnant. I'll bet if I were though, cluster headaches would be the least of my worries!

mine started in 1995 when I turned 40. Curiously, that's the exact age my father's started. I have warned my son.

First hit March 1995 @ 21yrs old.

2 short cycles per year like clockwork (March/October) since, until this year.... Thought missed the spring then got slammed at the end of May and still going >:( (much happier since found this place)

I'll be 31 on November 20th and getting married on November 21 so I hope I'm in the clear for at least that day and week of honeymoon.

Eric

P.S. I don't get hit when Jeepgun is pregnant either LOL!!

Started just before I turned 28.  I'll be 40 this October.  Roughly 12 years, with the first year being completely misdiagnosed.  I gotta laugh at all the BS I went through back then.   Went from TMJ to sinusitus and all the rest before I found a doc that knew what the hell was going on.

I started out with chronic ch and migraines when I was 32.  In March of this year (38 ) I turned eposodic, for I have been pain free for the last 5 months.

My son when he was 12 developed migraines and at 14 developed eposodic ch.

I remember having these "excruciating headaches" when I was about 12 or 13. I didn't get "visited" again until I was 50. After going through sinus surgery and an MRI, I was finally diagnosed with chronic CH. I'm now 55.

I was 23 when they began and they lasted until 1991 when I was 45. It's been 13 years since my last hit.

45 is a bit young though if there is an age factor.

Welcome aboard and I hope you stick around and let us know how things are going.

Charlie

I'm 23, my clusters started about 5-7 years ago....not exactly sure.  Mine are normally once a year for about 6-8 weeks.

Title: Re: age
Post by Donna H. on Sep 15th, 2004, 3:01am
Started at age 20.......vanished at age 48, after a hysterectomy, oopherectomy and the start of hormone replacement therapy.

First tell-tale sign of being pregnant = ch  (although they lasted the normal 6 weeks and didn't start again until lactation.)

Started at age 40 - was never a headache sufferer before.  Neuro said "You have pre-menopausal cluster migraines.  Here's some Verapamil."  What a load of bull---t!

Am almost 50 now.  Trying hard to finish up my third cycle.  This one does not want to go "quietly into the night."
