Because sometimes we talk off topic.  Especially at 2:30 in the morning when we can't sleep and need a diversion.

Because sometimes that diversion turns a little racey for an all ages chat room.

Because it is the right thing to do.

You wanna talk about headaches - go to hsg chat.  You just wanna talk  -  about anything - there is now a place to do that, too.  No censors, no filters, no chat logs and no threats.

MSN closed all thier chat to non USA users becouse they saw what was going on. They closly monitor all chat logs for anything that violaes thiier polocies, and becouse only US users can use it it is easier to prococute crimes commited on chat. I am not saying that anyone here would commit internet crimes, but remember, Big Brother is out there and you are using his servers.

I beg to disagree with ya Paul, but I am a member of one particular MSN group with a chat room and I have a very dear friend I chat with there all time.  From Scotland.  Another one from Ireland.  Just two examples of where this doesn't hold water.  Don't meant to get your feathers ruffled. :)

I couldn't find the story from this year in a hurry but THIS (http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/internet/09/24/microsoft.chat/) one says the same thing. Either they are from safe countries or MS isn't doing what they say.

I'm not naive enough to assume someone isn't watching.  Liability issues being what they are, they'd be crazy not to.  Besides, Echelon has been watching and listening to everyword everyone has said for years.

I just don't have to put a space in between the letters of the word c o c k atiel if I want to talk about birds, (which we have done) because of some stupid filter.

Use Konqueror Paul. <settings><configure Konqueror><browser identification><site specific identification><new> add "groups.msn.com "to the list. Without the http :// [smiley=curtain.gif]
Should work.

Does Konqueror have ActiveX compatability?  MSN chat rooms require ActiveX... Either through IE or Mozilla with the ActiveX plugin, and probably other ways.

Kirk,
Thanks for the help, I'm in but I am not sure it is going to work yet. It said I needed a download but I didn't get it. I didn't know Konqueror could do so much. I guess that I wasn't sure about using a web browser/ file browser combo but now I see I can use Nautilus and a text web browser and Mozilla as a file browser so I guess it is the norm. As for a Active X program would that work if I have WineX installed or is that for direct X ? So may X's so little time.

Paul it looks like you need "reaktivate" in your Wine install. The only place I found it was in the CVS tree for KDE. If you find it somewhere as  a tar.gz later than version 1.23. Please let me know. 1.0 should have been a production release.  But it doesn't look like it.
Leave it to MS and the French to make something simple so difficult.

Down with C#. It SUCKS!!

Kirk,
I have Crossover office 3.0 that I got off of bit torrent, would that have the plugin? I have never even opened it.
Is something going on out there? It seems that a lot of win98 installs are going bad. I wonder if it is a new exploit. I still haven't decided if everyone is going to get Xandros or SUSE free version when I fix them.

Hey OPUS-sy

I'd like you to show me one time that I've EVER said that Linux sucks.  You won't find it!

My question for Kirk (NOT you) had to relate with C#.  In case you didn't realize it:  That's a programming language, NOT an operating system.  But you wouldn't realize that because your programming experience probably consists of writing a single "Hello World" program.

BTW - Have you ever used Solaris?   I didn't think so!  (You can't even spell it!)   Probably because you don't work with computers.   As you put it a while ago, you only "break and fix" them.    ::)

and another BTW...   I was working with *IX back when you thought that computers had little guys running around inside like in 'Tron'.   Oops...   You STILL believe that!

later CLOWN!

grant

P.S.    QDos?  Amiga?  DRDos?    LMMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!    It figures that you would mention those.  Did you READ about them somewhere?   Didn't you forget CP/M, TRS-DOS, and LDOS?

The single most retarded statement I've heard you utter so far.   I shouldn't worry though.  Your complete ignorance about ANYTHING computer-related is a constant form of entertainment and you undoubtedly will come up with something even more inane in the future!

I know what C# is, I was just copying a misquote you made of me a while back. I have very little programing experience. I have only written programs in BASIC for the Apple IIc and the C64, Fortran on Vax, and assembler on X86 running CP/M.

No, I have not seen Tron, but I am assuming you are talking about the alternate theory with the "little men" running around the circuits, no I believe in electrons.

Hmmm, We Can't Find that Page...

The page you're looking for might have been moved or deleted. Or, perhaps the Web address is misspelled?

Ideas to help you find what you're looking for:
Try refreshing the page (click Refresh or Reload on your browser).
Check the address for spelling and punctuation errors.
Go to MSN Groups Home and look around from there.

Rock, I did a little research and I am still not sure what z/OS is. I am assuming it is a Unix running on more processors than Linux can support but the security looks more like a BSD. Can you enlighten us. And by the way is that what you use to browse the web with, a super computer?
