Title: Thank You
Post by Gator on Sep 11th, 2004, 8:41pm
Ree, I was replying to your post about your kids all being home together and this demanded to be written.  It is for your sons and all men and women who serve this country.

Thank You

Our soldiers go as in the past
We gather 'round and pray
That this war could be over fast
And they return to stay.

Hard as it is to watch them go
Marching off to war
I know down deep here in my soul
Just what they are marching for

They leave their homes and bear the strife
To defend our liberty
And to protect our way of life
No, freedom isn't free

So hear me now as I do write
To those who answered freedom's call
You men and women who now fight
God Bless You and Thank You one and all.

That was wonderful.  Many of my sons friends have joined the miliatry and will be getting sent to Afganistan and Iraq within the next few months.  I pray for all of them.....

You're a poet
and don't even know it.
But your feet show it
'cause they're Longfellow. ;;D

You really amaze me Mike! You have a real talent for conveying your feelings in verse. No doubt, you've moistened Ree's eyes. I'd like to have half your talent!

Thank You,

............alley
