Title: Can't win for losing
Post by Elaine on Sep 8th, 2004, 9:12pm
Well I got sick at the convention and things just don't get better. Now I have Bronchitus (sp) on top of all the rest. My throat is full of yeast from all the meds I been taking. I am tired of it all. For the next two weeks. I am not going to do anything but sit home and eat hot soup take meds and lay around the house. I am not even going to push to get here the next two weeks. I don't even feel good enough to read. I just want to sleep. I am headed to bed in about two minutes and if I don't see ya'll till I get better, know I am thinking of ya'll !
Ya'll take care ! I will be back ;-)

Elaine hun,  you have been through a heck of a lot since the convention too.  Handling all you have has perhaps worn you down a bit too.  Take it easy awhile E babe.  You haven't taken too many moments for yourself.........as usual.   Feet up!  Get better!

There, there Ms. Lainey.......wipe your snotty little nose off on my sleeve and sit up here on my lap, while you cough up a few more of those yeast laden phlegm balls. Take a nap. That's the ticket. You'll be just fine.

Elaine!  Yeast in your throat is not a good thing!  WhatEVER you do, don't drink any milk and stay away from the rest of the dairy products.  Try not to eat any bread or pasta either.

Get Buddy to get you a bottle of Acidopholus and take two caps with every meal.  And NO sugar, young lady!  The yeast feeds off it and will grow quickly.

Basically, eat nothing white - no dairy, white flour, or white sugar.  If you need something sweet (and you will crave it as the yeast starts to die off), use honey.

Y'hear me?  I know about this stuff.  Could be why your clusters have started up again, too.

Sorry you're feelin' punky, TS.  BIG hugs.

Be a good girl and do what I tell ya, ok? Get that acidopholus into you!!  It will discourage the yeast and encourage the good bacteria that your system needs to fight this infection.  You're on antiobiotics, right?  THAT's what's caused the yeast overgrowth!!

If you want a natural antibiotic, eat lots of garlic or get yourself some oil of oregano drops (put it in water, it tastes horrible).  Here's a link to how both of these things work:

I'll expect a full report in a couple of days and its' VERY important you do as I say, missy!!

love ya,
TS

Good, Take time to get yourself better.  It is hard to do sometimes and I suck at taking my own advise... but it is a nessecity at times.

What also works to help with your throat and lungs is to take a big pan of water (like one for cooking pasta) fill it about half way full and get it just to boiling, then take it off the stove. Add 5-10 drops of Peppermint or Spearmint essential oil to the water and lean over the pot and drap a towel over your head and the pot, so that the steam is trapped with you. Breath in the fumes of the mint and hot wet air. It will clear out your bronchial tubes fater then any antibiotic.

Elaine,

In addition to Margi's suggestions, get a bottle of Oil of Oregano gel capsules from Walmart.  It costs about $12 for a bottle of 60 capsules.

Here is what it helps:

Quote:
Oil of Oregano Effectively Treats:

yeast overgrowth · acne · allergies · arthritis · asthma · athlete's foot · constipation · croup · dandruff · diarrhea · digestive disturbances · insect bites · bronchitis · canker sores · colds · flu · earaches · fatigue · gum disease · parasites · headaches · menstrual irregularities · psoriasis · toenail problems · seborrhea · ringworm · rosacea · sinusitis · muscle pain · varicose veins · warts

and here is a relevent article about it:

Quote:
Press Release From Reuters ...
Oregano destroys S. pneumoniae in lab
ATLANTA (Reuters)
In several new experiments, researchers have found that some essential oils -- in particular, those derived from oregano, thyme and rosewood -- create a lytic reaction (cell death/disruption) in microorganisms, including Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Dr. Diane Horne of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, told the 98th general assembly of the American Society of Microbiology that the discovery of the impact of the oils on cells such as Streptococcus pneumoniae occurred through a bit of serendipity.

A co.researcher was spraying aromatic oils in the laboratory. “When I looked at the S. pneumoniae that I was preparing for another experiment, the cells were just falling apart,” Horne reported.

Horne and co-worker Sue Chao of the Young Living Essential Oil Company of Payson, Utah, evaluated the lytic properties of 74 different essential oils, eventually testing nine of them in a series of experiments to determine the impact of each oil on disease-causing microbes.

“Optimal results occurred with oregano, thyme, and rosewood; intermediate inhibition of microbe growth was seen with cinnamon oil and clove oil,” Horne said at a poster presentation at the general meeting of the American Society for Microbiology.

According to Horne, the oils also demonstrated efficacy against E. coli and several species of fungi. But she said that the oils did not seem to adversely affect Staphylococcus aureus.

While the oils appeared to work in test tube and Petri dish experiments, Horne said that, "It is too soon to say if the oils will have an impact against S. pneumoniae in people." She commented that the use of aromatherapy with the effective oils would not be harmful to a patient with S. pneumoniae infection, and it might even prove helpful in controlling the infection.

Sounds like you're getting some of your 'spark' back, Elaine.  Now just continue to do what Margi tells you!  We're going to develop a new tag line here in Canada - it will be "Cause Margi said!" ;;D

Hope you feel better soon - you've got lots of scrapping to get on with.  That won't mean much to the rest of the board, but you and I know what it means.

Hugs to you girl - Carol
