Title: Sex Math Post by BlueMeanie on Sep 1st, 2004, 10:32pm O.K. you math wizards and sex maniacs. Here is your chance to see how much of a sex feign and/or math geek you are. 1. Pick a number of times a week you would LIKE to have SEX. (try for more than once, but less than 10). I didn't make the rules.....just do it ! 2. Multiply this number by 2. (just to be bold) 3. Add 5. (for Sunday) 4. Multiply it by 50. (I'll wait while you get the caluclator) 5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1754....If you haven't, add 1753. 6. Now subtract the four digit year that you where born. You should have a three digit number. The first digit of this was your original number (i.e., how many times you said you want to have sex each week). The next two numbers are... YOUR AGE ! (Oh Yes it IS !!!!) |

Title: Re: Sex Math Post by alleyoop on Sep 1st, 2004, 10:51pm Cool, Blue!!! This one doesn't have anything to do with sex, but it's a pretty good little math teaser. Three salesmen go to check into a motel. They ask how much for a room. The desk clerk says $30.00. They each give the clerk a ten dollar bill and go to their room. A few minutes later the desk clerk realizes that he has made a mistake. He calls the bellhop over and tells him that he over charged the three gentlemen and hands him $5.00 and tells him to take it up to them. The bellhop is not a very honest employee. On the way up to the room he decides that since the three men can't divide a five dollar bill evenly, he will keep $2.00. He pockets $2.00 and when he gets to the room gives each of the men $1.00 back. OK. The three men originally spent $10.00 each. They each got $1.00 back, making their out of pocket expense $9.00 each. 3 X 9= 27 + 2 (that the bellhop kept) = 29. What happened to the other dollar? note: edited for Lizzie |

He handed him a $5 bill...so he can't pocket $2 and give back 3 $1 bills...So who cares if it doesn't add up to 30? hehehe |

Title: Re: Sex Math Post by OneEyeBlind on Sep 1st, 2004, 11:29pm The hotel cost was actually $25.00. (30 - 5). But they endend up paying 2.00 more because the bellhop ripped them off thereby spending 27.00. 9 x 3. There is no missing dollar ....... but if there was .... I am sure it would have been missing because of taxes ! LMAO. Great math games ! |

But...but...how comes if they paid 30 to begin with, and he kept 2 and gave them each 1 back..how come it doesn't add back up to 30? My head hurts tryin to figure out why LMAO I don't like when I don't understand math!! haha |

Title: Re: Sex Math Post by OneEyeBlind on Sep 1st, 2004, 11:44pm 30 - 5 dollar rebate = 25 9 x 3 = 27 less the 2.00 rip off = 25.00 There is no missing dollar !!!!!!!!! It's the way the question is worded that makes ya think there is a buck missing !!!!!! |

Started out spending $10 each. 3X10=30 Got $1 each back, thus $9 each out-of-pocket. 3X9=27 27+2(bellhop kept)=29 not 30. Where'd the other dollar go? |

Title: Re: Sex Math Post by Kevin_M on Sep 2nd, 2004, 12:57am Ally, I know there is an easier way to explain it but... IF the three guys had ORIGINALLY paid $25.00 for the room, they would have each paid $8.33 each. But, each guy paid $10.00 each. So...each guy overpaid by $1.67. Now...each guy gets a dollar back. So...now each guy overpaid by 67 cents each. The 67 cents each overpaid went to the bellhop. 67 x 3 = $2.00. I know it can be explained easier though. Kevin M |

Title: Re: Sex Math Post by juvy on Sep 2nd, 2004, 4:21am All right for those of you who still don't understand. room + tip=$27 (they each paid $9) (3x9=27) so adding the $2 tip again is incorrect math. It's already included in the $9 they paid. The other $3 is in their pocket. So in the actual word problem the tip is added twice to make it look like there is $1 missing and the $3 they have in their pockets isn't included in the end. Hope this helps explain it. Cheers, April |
