Title: Re: What are your Happiest songs?? Post by Carl_D on Aug 29th, 2004, 12:45am Happy songs? Me? I don't know any happy songs. Too happy of a song makes me want to suck on the end of a 12 gauge and play footsee with the trigger. One has to be "Give The Kid A Break" from Alice Cooper - Goes To Hell. Where he is trying to make a deal with the devil to get out of hell. The dialogue of the song is great... "Listen, for heavens sake" AC "Watch your language kid" devil "Okay okay, don't get hot." AC In fact, that whole album makes me smile, especially when I think back to 3rd grade when the principle called my mom because I was on the playground singing "You can GOT TO HELL!" hehehehe My cousin once scared me when I was 4 years old playing "Ballad of Dwight Frye" by Alice Cooper. Every since then I was a fan. Hmm, Happy? I'll try to think... 1. March of the Pigs - Nine Inch Nails 2. Cup of Tea - The Verve Pipe 3. Touch-a Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me - Rocky Horror 4. Broken Hearts Are For Ass-holes - Frank Zappa 5. Kiss Me Where It Smells Funny - Bloodhound Gang 6. The Oddyssy - Orgy 7. Spin Me - Dope 8. John, I'm Only Dancing - David Bowie 9. Bunglaow Bill - The Beatles 10. Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey - The Beatles 11.Everybody's Got A Ticket To Ride Except For Me And My Lightning - Beatallica ;;D 12. High in Highschool - Madame X 21. I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister 22. Raining Blood - Slayer 23. Any song from Mindless Self Indulgence (They are techno metal punk - great stuff!) 24. Blood Makes Noise - Suzanne Vega 25. Never Enough - The Cure 26. Happy - Phil Keaggy 27. 2112/ The Temples Of Syrinx - Rush 28. The Bad Touch - Bloodhound Gang 29. This Is A Call - Foo Fighters 30. Dive - Nirvana 31. Scentless Apprentice - Nirvana 32. Rape Me - Nirvana 33. Animal - Pearl Jam 34. Personal Jesus - Depeche Mode 35. Flying High Again - Ozzy Osbourne 36. Icarus Dream Suite - Yngwie Malmsteen 37. Killer Girls - Quiet Riot 38. girl thingy - Lords of Acid 39. Days of Swine and Roses - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult 40. Blackout - Scorpions Whew! That's just for starters - when you talk music, I can't shut up. I was born for music, I live for music. When I die, I hope I get to jam with Hendrix, Joplin, Cobain and of course, Mr. Zappa. Why not? We'll all be in hell with time to kill. ;;D Peece, Carl *oops! Can't forget Devo - Head Like A Hole. Their version is great, as well as "I Can't Get No - Satisfaction." |

Title: Re: What are your Happiest songs?? Post by Carl_D on Aug 29th, 2004, 4:38am LOL - Top 40 list # 3 Told ya I can talk about music all day... it is my passion in life. They used to tell me when I was a baby, if they turned off the radio at nighttime or naptime, I would wake up and cry, so they left it on to keep me asleep. I used to lie in bed and roll back and forth listening to music. Weird habit I know. There is only one other person I know of who does that too, and he is a clusterhead as well. Some think I am autistic the way I will sit and rock to music. It's just me diggin' the groove though. 1. Droppin' Plates - Disturbed 2. Tears of a Clown - Smokey Robinson 3. Into The Wildwood - Terry Scott Taylor 4. The Shape of Air - Daniel Amos 5. Everyone I Love Is Dead - Type O Negative 6. The Perfect Drug - Nine Inch Nails 7. Like A Song - U2 8. Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears for Fears 9. Mexican Radio - Wall of Voodoo 10. Gett On - Kill Creek 11. Feel So Numb - Rob Zombie 12. Within - Former (hehehe, one of mine - and my fave song I have written and recorded) 13. Crazy - Seal 14. The Everlasting Gaze - Smashing Pumpkins 15. Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cirus (oops! That goes on the "songs I hate the most" list) ;;D 16. Moon Baby - Godsmack 17. Don't Let It Bring You Down - Annie Lennox ( the song from "American Beauty") 18. Dawn of the Dead (Incidental Music by Goblin) 19. Paradise Garage - Tim Curry 20. Science Fiction/ Double Feature - Rocky Horror/ Richard O'Brien (I am re-recording this song for my Crsuh Velvet Earth disc. It will be the first song on the CD) 21. Closet Chronicles - Kansas 22. Spreading The Disease - Queensryche (the album "Operation: Mindcrime" was the 80's equivilant of The Who's Quadrophenia and Pink Floyd The Wall) 23. Blackened - Metallica 24. Justify My Love - Madonna 25. Just Like Jesse James - Cher 26. Psalm 69 - Ministry 27. Again - Alice In Chains 28. To Hell With The Devil - Stryper 29. Colour My World - Chicago 30. Concerto #1 - Tchaikovsky 31. In The Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson 32. Aphrodites Child - 666 (the whole album!) 33. Irresponsible Hate Anthem - Marilyn Manson 34. Throwing Copper - Live (again, the whole album!) 35. Lakini's Juice - Live 36. He's A Woman, She's A Man - Scorpions 37. Now or Nothing - Ken Tamplin 38. Best Of Both Worlds - Van Halen 39. Innuendo - Queen (too much passion throughout the disc to put into words. Freddie Mercury's last and greatest work. I can't listen to "The Show Must Go On" without my eyes leaking every time) 40. The Chain - Fleetwood Mac There is a song I wanted to put on the sad song list, and tried like hell to find it out in cyberspace where I could put a link to it for all to hear. It is a song by the band "Live" called "Overcome." They did a remix of it after September 11th that had WTC disaster clips in the song. I found it on a various CD I made from back then and when I listened to it the other day, I bawled my eyes out. I don't think there is a person in this world that could keep from crying on that song. Go look for it and download it. It will either be found as Overcome (911 Mix) or Overcome (WTC) by Live. Peaced, Carl D |

Spinal Tap just rules!!!! If you like Spinal Tap, scroll up and click on the Travis Shredd link - you'll love it. Also, I didn't know if anyone outside my family knew who Phil Keaggy is. I have almost all of his stuff on CD, and my obsessed brother DOES have everything on CD, including the Glass Harp CD's and the acoustic/electric guitar instructionals on VCD (I got those too.) My favorite 2 Keaggy discs are "Sunday's Child" and "Love Broke Thru." I listen to the instrumental discs "Master & the Musician" "Beyond Nature" and the "Music To Paint By" series when I am working on my book. Gotta have instrumental stuff when working on the book. The top 3 instrumental discs for that are "Schindler's List" soundtrack, "American Beauty" soundtrack, and a Mozart MP3 discs that has all of the "Amadeus" soundtrack, his Requiem and more. Peace, Carl |

Title: Re: What are your Happiest songs?? Post by ExplodingEyeBall on Aug 31st, 2004, 11:57am Carl... Have you heard the stuff he did with a full band back in the late 80s/early 90s? I saw Phil Keaggy as a guest at a Promise Keepers conference a few years ago. When he was done, he did a blues jam with the Maranatha band (The house band for these cobnferences). I've been a blues fan/player for years and this jam absolutely blew me away. |

Title: Re: What are your Happiest songs?? Post by Carl_D on Aug 31st, 2004, 12:27pm I've heard just about everything he has done. Have seen him 9 times live, and a few years ago at a music festival called "Cornerstone" had the priveldge of having lunch with him on the festival grounds. He is incredible both as a musician and as a person. I also seen the Glass Harp reunion tour. I have a cool pic that I had laminated and mounted of me and Phil (Back when i had my long hair) and took it the following year to have it autographed. Another great album to check out (if you can find it) is with an early CCM band called 2nd Chapter of Acts. It is a live 2 disc set called "How The West Was One." It is awesome to say the least. (If you can't find this and would like a copy, just let me know. I have the CD.) I haven't seen it yet, but my brother just got a DVD called "Philly Live" that is supposed to be awesome as well. I should note as well, my brother Brian can play just like Phil, including the taps and all. He has won 2 guitars in contests playing Phil's songs, one of which was "Fare Thee Well." That night he won a $1000.00 Ovation acoustic. Peace, Carl |

Title: Re: What are your Happiest songs?? Post by Ronny on Sep 6th, 2004, 2:38pm I've been sitting on this one for a while, I can't choose, i have thousends of songs on my computer (Legal from my own cd's) but i just cant choose. I've tried to clean up in the songs, and i can't delete any of them. I tend to stick with Punk, rock, hardrock & metal. I also have softer stuff like Kate Bush, Mike Oldfield, Fisher Z, Dire Straits, etc... It very much depends on the mood i'm in. Now i think of it, if i had to pick just one: "Bohemian Rapsody" Ronny Edit: i guess i have missed the point here, Happiest, ahaha. |

Title: Re: What are your Happiest songs?? Post by eyes_afire on Sep 6th, 2004, 8:13pm Wow, I can actually think of one. Took me awhile: Angel City - by Motorhead I wanna grow my hair, live in Bel Air, Lose my head, keep a live snake in my bed. I wanna backstage pass, drink Bon Jovi's booze for free, I wanna be a star and buy a hundred guitars, Eat everything I can bite, I wanna feel a little danger, feel a little stranger, Angel City tonight. I got a buncha boys, we make a lot of noise, Little bit crazy, playing with chemical toys, We're such bad ass dudes, Almost can't stand it myself, I wanna get the crabs in my elegant rags, Make my mom and daddy uptight, I wanna be an intellectual, heterosexual, Angel City tonight. I'm gonna live in L.A. drinkin all day, Lay by the pool and let the record company pay, Talking to the devil on the batphone all of the time, I'm gonna kick ass, I'm gonna spit broken glass, I'm gonna shoot out all of your lights, I wanna eat dirt, I'm gonna eat my own shirt, Angel City tonight. |
