Title: insurance says no more imitrex, alts?
Post by k9n8 on Aug 27th, 2004, 8:23pm
Local Pharm says insurance company will not cover any more imitrex. Had to tough it out for the last week on excedrin migraine and a few precious imitrex pills. I have a really cool neuro though, she let me come by and pick up a box of shots, and I can split those for 6 CH stoppers.
Blahblahbalh anyway, I have an appointment this monday and I would like to know what to try next if she cant get insurance to change their tune.
Ive tried zomig, maxalt, a bunch of others, but nothing comes close to the relief of a shot of miracle imijuice.
I think my best bet is to argue with insurance.
Leave me and my imitrex alone!!!!!!haha
speaking of which, I feel a twitch and aint that a bitch.

Personally, I'd pay for it out of pocket if I had to.
But there's an insurance letter somewhere around here or OUCH  that might help your cause...

How much do you get a month out of the insurance and how much does your doctor write your prescription for?  That's a start...

Ive had 22 boxes in 5 months, not sure if it is on a monthly basis or a total limit, but will find out in 2 days.
It left me alone for the best part of the night tonight....so far, but am appreciating the break.

Have you tried o2? Might be the next option to consider if you can't get enough Trex.

Peace,
Carl

Please watch with the Excedrin, it may cause rebound ha's.  Try Aleve (naproxim sodium) instead.

Other than that, I hope you get some relief and help with more trex.

good luck to you,
:)mel

Most insurance have an appeal process.  I've had to use mine to get my Imitrex NS.  All it takes is a fax from your doctors office (usually). Contact your insurance co. to find out how it works.

Good Luck

John
