Title: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by don on Aug 24th, 2004, 12:19pm My neuro asked me today "Are you in cycle or out of cycle"? I said "I dunno". "I no longer have nighttime attacks and the ussual triggers are not triggering......but....if I take a nap it's a guaranteed hit. So I ask you.....Am I in cycle or out of cycle"? He says "I dunno". I left with an Rx for 20 imitrex injections with 2 refills. His reasoning? In case I need a lot of naps. Gotta love this guy. |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by IndianaJohn on Aug 24th, 2004, 12:35pm This may sound strange. I almost always get this "pressure" in my head when a cycle is about to start or I'm in cycle. I can't explain it any other way. But I always know. It's when the a cycle is ending that I have trouble know if it's over or not. And I always stockpile my trex! John |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by k9n8 on Aug 24th, 2004, 1:00pm I almost always get this "pressure" in my head when a cycle is about to start or I'm in cycle. That is what I refer to as a shadow. I dont know if that is the same as what other people refer to, but this pressure, and feeling of impending doom (learned) is always present when in the middle of a cycle. k9n8 |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by IndianaJohn on Aug 24th, 2004, 1:11pm I tend to differentiate between shadows and the pressure. I can have the pressure and be in no pain. The shadows are like a low level headache. Almost like a tension headache, sometimes like a little CH... |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by Carl_D on Aug 24th, 2004, 1:36pm In cycle since February of 1998. Sometimes I wonder if this will ever end. Carl D |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by Jeepgun on Aug 24th, 2004, 4:45pm I get that same pressure sensation, but it's not the same as a shadow at all. Autumn has traditionally been the time that I go into cycle, but last year, it skipped and I got hit with a cycle last spring instead, so this autumn, I'm not sure what to expect. All quiet on the western front, for the moment... |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by Mark C on Aug 24th, 2004, 5:00pm Hell I don't know either....on about a three days cycle of heavy shadows followed by three days of no shadows....still no meds needed so I ain't complaining. After 30 years of this $hit I still cannot figure this thing out... :-/ Not complaining....yet...Mark |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by Cerberus on Aug 24th, 2004, 5:05pm Good Question... I went to my GP after a similar anomaly...got meds re-scripted...reported today to the neuro, her advice? Start the Verapamil now....great. :P methinks I will wait another month....yeah I know...stupid, but I havent had a "Cycle" even really begin. I know the idea is preventative measures, but man I take so much crap already that I cant tell if its my med regimen triggering or if its a fluke and I REALLY dont want to add to the confusion with Verap and Adderal and Remeron and Alprazolam and and and and and already coursing through my system...makes me just wanna tell the beast to either hit me or get the fuck out.....DAMMIT! >:( Ramon |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by IndianaJohn on Aug 24th, 2004, 5:11pm I would agree to be cautious with the verap. My GP told me the same thing and it wound up not working this cycle...I would definately wait... |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by Mastifflvr28 on Aug 25th, 2004, 1:40am Number 2 pain in the ass about this disease (number 1 would be PAIN) is that I have to give up my nappies when in cycle. I really love my nappies. Like BobG says...never take nappies. Oh wait...I'm female...I don't get clusters...NM :) Mast |

Title: Re: In cycle? Out of cycle? Post by BarbaraD on Aug 25th, 2004, 7:41am You take naps?????? That's a guarantee for me to get hit so I quit taking them years ago.... Oh... I am not in. Just saying that IMO Don is in. If I have had a CH in the last few weeks, I would consider myself in. I have been out-of-cycle since I shroomed a few months ago. Shrooms seem to be the reset button for my hypothalathingy. |
