Title: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by E-Double on Aug 18th, 2004, 6:20pm It appears that on every board there is one thread or another which develops into someone questioning someone's pain or methods to abort or what have you. Holy Shit!!! I understand that when many of us are in cycle or "PEAKING" it is very difficult and sometimes our patience runs very thin. We can go from compassionate to passionately quip in seconds. How the hell do people who have "known" eachother for thousands of posts start debating over the efficacy of there own pain resolve. I don't get it! I came to this site (and I'm not going anywhere..) and found tons of support, compassion and have made several dear friends. I have met a few and look forward to the day where I meet each and everyone of you to give ya hugs and love in person. On the flip side, people question ones usage of Oxygen flow to how often or little one might sleep and sometimes truly trash eachother. I don't get it! Just a rant... I'm sure I'll get slammed for this one but I just wondered how/why people do this to eachother when all we want is to have someone be there! Thanks, Eric |

Simple some doctors do not prescribe a high enough flow rate, to be effective against ch. That is why people ask about the flow rate, so they can educate them. 12-15 lpm. |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by pubgirl on Aug 18th, 2004, 6:28pm Eric Not referring to your personal situation here, but sometimes "just being there" is not the best thing. If someone is feeling sorry for themselves, is perhaps using the wrong treatment or is horribly overmedicating, or even doesn't have CH, it may be better to talk straight. I've seen people many times here who fought back and gained energy after Jonny had told them to "stop whining", or after someone had questioned their diagnosis or treatment who has then found a better route. just MY opinion too of course, but I bet for as many people as have been pissed, there have been more who have been helped Wendy |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by john_d on Aug 18th, 2004, 6:31pm Are you talking about clusterheadaches.com or the entire human society? I can't tell cause what you described seems to apply to both ;) At least it keeps things interesting ;;D Glad to hear you will be sticking around, I like reading your posts. |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by Superpain on Aug 18th, 2004, 6:32pm Yeah... Bastards! [smiley=laugh.gif] I don't think there was anyone trashing each other on the O2 thread... Just discussing various techniques and efficacy. Like I said... I know my results with my method and I'm interested to know if it's just me, or the method I use is as effective on anyone else. And I don't question anyone elses pain, because I only know mine. ;) |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by IndianaJohn on Aug 18th, 2004, 7:07pm I have to agree with both Eric and Wendy. I was in a very bad place yesterday and the posts telling me to stay strong and to "suck it up" were just as important to me as the ones offering compassion. I draw both strength and a shoulder to lean on from this group. Sometimes I just need both. Someone who understands what we are dealing with and another to say "don't give up the fight, you can win!". |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by Jonny on Aug 18th, 2004, 7:28pm Simple example Clusterhead called me at 3:30 am knowing I would answer cause I was getting ready for work, he tells me "I cant do this anymore, im going to end it!" I says "Go ahead ass-hole, this way you will never call me at this time of night again" He laughed and said "You suck!"......Then he laughed like all hell and hung up. This was four years ago and he still posts here on a weekly basis. A boot in the ass goes along way, you just have to know who you are dealing with and how to handle them......this can be tricky! ...................................................jonny |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by E-Double on Aug 18th, 2004, 7:46pm I agree with all that is said and truly believe that it is out of support. I would hope. In fact I know... Yes this is a microcosm of society and there will ofcourse be personality conflict. This was not written because of anything that I personally felt as being directed to ME. It was just a bunch of questions that I pondered allowed.... I think that debate and discussion is absolutely necessary for the continued education of us all and especially becoming more educated towards the monster that we all suffer from. I just wondered why if a person (in general) makes comment towards something helping them THAT IS LEGIT, not quackery.... there are sometimes heated words? Just curious. Back to your regular programming ;) Eric |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by TxBasslady on Aug 19th, 2004, 2:40am I suppose this comes from CH affecting us all a bit different. If we were all the same....and if just one med worked for all of us, it would be great. Unfortunately, CH chooses to hit each of us as if we didn't share the same affliction. This makes it tough.....and we seem to read the same questions and answers all over again. It's amazing how some of the remedies and suggestions noted here on this board, help so many. However, sometimes it seems that some are suffering, when in fact, they may get some relief just by reading and listening, and then practicing those remedies. Excedrin Migraine gets rid of my shadows.....Melatonin has helped me to keep this current cycle at bay. Sleeping elevated helps with both the Excedrin and the Melatonin. It's simple for me....but for sure I don't expect it to work for everyone else. And I don't expect everyone to try it. It's just something I learned....here. Good post, Eric ;) I think you're right about the debate and discussion. If it helps just one....it's worth it. Jean |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by Superpain on Aug 19th, 2004, 3:05am People question things outside the norm, and when something is contradictory to their "expertise" they either dismiss it or attack it. So you better stick to the fuckin rules mister! >:( |

Title: Re: Everyone's talking Smack!! Post by BillyJ. on Aug 19th, 2004, 3:07am My [smiley=twocents.gif] We are all human here,we all misread, misunderstand or mis express ourselves at times. We all have our good days and our bad days. My advice here is the only person that you can control the actions/words of is yourself.Don't let the BS get to you and don't get involved in those threads if you don't want to. That's one of the reasons I don't post often. It was a wise man who said "take what you need, and leave the rest" PF2ALL,,BillyJ |
