Is it just me or does it seem like the Democrats are controlling the weather in order to wipe out Florida before the voting begins?

Why would the Dems wipe out Florida? Kerry has a lead in the polls, and a hurricane gives Bush the opportunity to visit and make compassionate speeches (as mayors/governors/presidents should do after a disaster regardless of their party affiliation).

Believing in weather control is a sign of schizophrenia ;)

While controlling the path of a hurricane is pretty far out (ie, impossible), it may be possible to 'bleed' a hurricane before it hits a large city, reducing the damage.

Oh yeah. Meanwhile back in DC, Carl Rove is tickled pink. As with 9/11 (he told an audience in Texas how they could use it for elections) it gives brother Jeb a chance to help Dubya. Nothing like disasters in tossup states.

Are they serious about the weather powder? You gotta be kiddin'. They tried that idiocy in the 1950s. God, is nothing new? ::)

Now here's a scary thought. I understand that hurricanes are frightening and desctructive and all, but they are a part of our ecosystem. Change one thing here and it effects something else over there. I'm not a tree hugger or one of those green peace types, but I can't see anything like this being for the good.

Most hurricanes are postive events from an economic perspective - even Andrew broke a drought and saved farmers more than it damaged Miami.

I am an environmentalist but have no problem with the idea of turning down a hurricane occasionally - when a major storm is headed towards a major city. Smaller storms should be left alone. Winds up to 100 mph or so don't bother me too much, but 140 mph and up is pretty severe.

I'm widju guys. Cloud seeding and weather control was a big deal from the 1940s to the 60s. It didn't work, and is kinda goofball, but a popluar fantasy.
