Post by UN_SOLVED on Aug 15th, 2004, 11:58pm
How good is HTML encryption anyways ?

Is there ways around it ?

If someone can 'take' this music ... please do it and let me know how it was done.

WTF ... now I get a message saying "The web site you are trying to access has exceeded its allocated data transfer" ... the site will be back up in an hour  ... wtf ?
It's only 2.26 mb of music plus the page 2.9 kb and the background file of 4.7 kb. It's NOT that much !!

Well....those mf'ers. I can see it fine now. (4:26 pm here) .

I checked it from a different comp (w/ dial up) and heard the music in chunks (lol). The fonts were also different.

PS. Yahoo's 'free' websites only allow 3 GB of Data Transfer per month metered hourly. So, if I did my math right ... it will allow 4.16 MB to be viewed per hour. What a joke !!  LMAO That's like allowing 1 - 2 people to view the page per hour then you get the message ... "Exceeded Data Transfer .. " "Back up in an hour"   [smiley=laugh.gif]

wget only got the HTML and a jpeg even using -r, so your java script is protecting you there, the HTML is encrypted except that I can see that you have named one of the files rift1.wav but I didn't see the folder it is in. You email address is clearly visible so your protection from spambots failed.

The autoplay feature did not work on my Mozilla on Linux, this may be a problem on my end but you should test it with mozilla. I did see a test for IE in the script so it must try to give the correct code for each browser.

Thanks Jonny. The guy that went with me to NashCon 04 ... DALE ... is the one playing these riffs. He's a little rusty right now and says it's all coming back. He can jam and we're gonna put up some more music soon. Still trying to figure out the best way to do it (free). LOL    Hey, I'm not paying for it !

PS. this guy really can rip down on a guitar, he needs to be in a band !!

Thanks for your input Opus/Paul. You are close ... but the name is NOT rift1.wav . I also did not protect the e-mail addy on purpose. It was an option in the program, but I chose not to use it since I want others to be able to contact the guitarist.

Thanks everyone for your input
