The guy was definitely hammered with some issues these past few months...but this is totally out of the blue. I work in NJ & knew he had some issues with political contributions...which is what I thought he was resigning for.

His private life is just that...his private life. Let us all think what the media could bring against us if they decided to dive deep into our lives...I shudder to think it.

Man, I lost my state's Governor, T. Ridge to George Bush...kinda like the same thing,,,right?

As a rare "moderate" in my political beliefs I get tired of hearing alot of the bullshit. From either side!
I'm a man that is open minded to others and beyond tolerant and certain things although I find amuzing other things are quite difficult and put a bad taste in mouth.

Kinda one thing to not PC, in fact some of the Overly PC certainly tic me off as well but somethings are just not right.

I'd hate to feel that some respect is lost for eachother especially to those that we really don't even know. Just chatting and e-mail, etc.....I've made some eternal friends

I gotta tell ya though as a Special Educator I find that offensive and as a sibling of a brother with Autism it just pissed me off.

Still much love for the brothers and sisters in pain and support always but like in a "real" family you do not have to like to love and support.

The tag kinda contradicts the immense compassion shown for people as a whole. Joking or not.

Politically incorrect is one thing.

Offensive and crude (not to mention being a stupid ass fucking thing to say) is another.

The Special Olympics would obviously be more of a challenge to alledged  "normal" people than it is to those that participate. The only thing more moronic than someone originating that statement is someone re -iterating that statement.

I didn't realize so many people took offense to that tag-line & being that several have found it offensive, I have removed it & apologize to anyone that took offense to it.

Without trying to explain it in detail...I originally thought it was valid due to the way someone would hammer someone personally on a message board by a few words & argue incessantly with someone that they don't know or haven't met. Not being able to see one's emotions on a message board...something that is said in jest may be taken by someone else at face value. Especially if you forget that "smiley face", after a joke. ;;D

In retrospect...it was offensive.

Peace...I've suffered with these headaches alone for 17 years & I can definitely do it again. Just need as much Kleenex & frozen veggies as I can get my hands on.

Hello all,

    He didn't resign because he is gay he resigned because his lover he brought back with him from a trip to Israel in 2000 is about to file sexual harassment charges against him tomorrow. This is the same lover he appointed to the position of director of homeland security for the state of NJ and then when the 9/11 commission wanted to speak to him assigned him to the position of special assistant to the Govenor with no special duties. Then he decides to post-date his resignation for Nov 15 so the people of NJ won't have the opportunity to vote for a new Govenor in November.  Keep an eye on the news in the coming days folks and we'll see how much come to light and how much is buried. It will be interesting to see how the 3 major stations cover this. Two were very strong supports when he was elected.

He had two choices. Resign for personal reasons or stay and defend his politican actions. His decision to appoint his lover as "Director of Homeland Security" couldn't be defended and he risked being impeached by that and whatever else will surface.

The only differance I see is if he were hetero and appointed  his mistress to the position he would probably survive his term of office.

So he resigned. Wise choice Gov.

I honestly was offended that the Governor decided to come out ONLY because of the sexual suit.  That's not tenacity, that's cowardice as far as I'm concernd.  I feel for his wife with the double life as well.  I can only interject that people in authority sometimes abuse that authority.  Even if in the beginning their "relationship" was consensual perhaps the governor became a little clingy when Golan Cipel decided it was time to withhold dinner.  Perhaps the governor wouldn't take no for an answer, since Mr. Cipel is good looking and developed all sorts of feelings for the guy.  The governor probably was asking for more than Mr. Cipel was willing to give after awhile.  If I was being given my daily bread and then it was withheld I'd get a little pissed off about that.  Nothing like good sex for people to get nasty, especially powerful people.  I don't place all the blame on Golan Cipel.  But I wasn't there and there are always three sides to every story.  Many people say one thing and do another in their private lives and I couldn't care less what two adults do as long as it doesn't involve children.  Twenty years ago you were supposed to get married and many gay people did marry because of societal pressures and the stigma of being gay.  Unfortunately, this still happens.  If people lived their own lives and worried less about what other people do in their bedrooms it would be a much easier world.  So these are some of my thoughts on this scandalous topic.

I forgot to add - when I was in the Navy onboard the USS John F. Kennedy, I was approached and came on to by more "straight" men than I can mention.  Perhaps it was something about being out at sea for six months at a time, but I was approached constantly (guess I'm cute).

LOL, Joe. I would never do anything like that. :) I used to have issues with being hit on and stuff, but then when I was in hospice, I worked with a young kid who was dying of leukemia, whose father was gay and lived with his son and his (the father's) partner. I've never seen the kind of love, care, and compassion that this family shared for each other. It was nothing short of amazing... It certainly shook the fear and prejudice out of me, the way a dog shakes a rag... I'm glad for the experience. In the end, people are just people. :)

Wow Jeep,

That had to be quite an emotional experience. I think people everywhere are slowly coming to the same realization. I don't begrudge anyone their religious beliefs, but I'd be glad to see sexuality become a non-issue... for people of every orientation!

A very close friend of mine invited me to his groups XMass Party.

What kind of group you ask. A Gay mens support group.
Out of gratitude for being the only breeder invited I volunteered to be Santa. Great party, delicious food and the inevitable Broadway Show Tunes. Good bunch of guys.......except for one.

This dude makes a grab for Santa's bag of goodies. Luckily Santa was armed with a 4 foot plastic candy cane and proceeded to beat the guy with it much to the seasonal glee of the rest of the party goers.

Bad Santa.

I have to say I agree with you Joe.  Whos Zoomin Who is something I could care less about.  It's just none of my business.  Child abuse, spousal abuse, Isreali/Palestenian continuing war, starvation, disease, genocide, global warming, these things matter to me more than what people do in their private lives.  But it seems like its still fine to discriminate against gay people even with a constitution supposedly ensuring the same rights and freedoms to all.  Why that is and why people care about what Joe, John, Bill, Sue and Jane does is just beyond my comprehension.  Finding real love is difficult enough, I'm more concerned about finding mine that worrying about what someone else is doing in the privacy of their own homes.  I have done things I am not particularly proud of (and hope wasn't filmed) but I am sure aint too many people who can say differently.

Actually, I'm met and dealt with hundreds of homosexuals in my business and through my family. I can't say that I've ever had a bad experience; on the contrary.

After reading all these posts it still boggles my mind that anyone would give a damn what other people do in their private personal lives.  The truth is that the homophobes are usually the LAST people any gay person would want or want to be bothered with.  Most people so threatened by gay people are really thinking too highly of themselves as if they are so wantable or something when that's truly not the case at all.  Frankly, I am an adult and couldn't give a *&$# what anyone else thinks of my preferences, choices or proclivities, considering those things my own business and no one else's.
