Title: Test results from the Doc today Post by Carl_D on Aug 12th, 2004, 1:48pm Back from my GP appointment. They took vial after vial of blood for more testing. He wants to see if I have a metabolic problem that could be causing alot of the muscular pain and spasms. The results from my last round of tests revealed that my Testosterone level is way too low. Normal levels run in the 350 range count, but mine is down to 67 count. Running more tests to see what is causing that. So, I am back on the Testim HRT. Apparently it could be causing the fatigue and muscle weakness. He told me that the Amitriptyline and Flexeril should help the Fibromyalgia, and wants to see me next month, as there is a new drug coming out on the market he wants to try with me. For the insomnia, he added Seroquel to my night meds. It is supposed to work with Melatonin levels, if I understood him right. Been awake since Monday, so the noggin is a little bit foggin. Still in alot of pain, and my right calve has that charley horse feeling again. I came home and took some Tramadol and Flexeril and laid down, only to get back up about 20 minutes later to fight the beast. Feeling really weak today too, which I am guessing is from lack of sleep, and now catching a cold on top of it all. Grrrrrrrr. Still not sure what is causing the loss of appetite, but have lost a bit of weight since returning from Nashville. He told me to try and get into the neuro's office as soon as possible. So, tomorrow I will be at my brothers again, trying to reach the neuro. If I can't get in, I'll just start calling every Neuro in the fricken book. There has to be at least one who knows what they are doing - at least I hope. I told him about NashCon, and explained the C.H.A.T.S. program to him. I am also going to be keeping a daily journal chronicling the CH's, Fibro and insomnia. That way I can take that into his office the next visit and he can see what exactly is going on. Also, I got my glasses finally a couple of weeks ago. I was hoping that maybe some of my daily headache was attributed to eye strain, but there has been no difference since I have been wearing them (except now I can see clearly, and am amazed at the distance I can see now. I go back September 13th, and hope to see the neuro very soon as well. That's all the info I have right now. I got the answer to some of my questions, but now have even more questions. Peace, Carl D |

Mkay. Do you also suffer with Fibromyalgia or MS? How about TMJ? Are you telling me that all I need is 3 antibiotics and I can finally cure cancer? Where have you been while the professional scientists have studied endlessly to find the cause for clusters? Apparently you have all of the answers. Sorry if this post offends you, but you offended me first. Regards, Carl D |

Title: Re: Test results from the Doc today Post by alleyoop on Aug 12th, 2004, 4:11pm Damn Carl, it just seems like the ones that need a break the most are the last ones to get one! My wife has the fibro, too. She finds it hard to find a doctor who will treat her for it, sort of like CH I guess. Sorry you're getting hit hard again. How are you sittin' on abortives? Got enough trex? I'd be willing to bet you'll get some sleep now that you've got a script for Seroquel. My wife was taking that for a while. I tried it once. I only took half a pill and man, that stuff really knocks you out! It was too strong for me! With your insomnia, it'll probably be just what you need(hopefully). Hope you get to feeling better real soon! PM or call me if you need anything. ...........................................alley ps Get those testosterone levels back up or we might have to start calling you Carlene! [smiley=laugh.gif] |
