Title: cat update
Post by fubar on Aug 11th, 2004, 1:42pm
Well, I've stopped crying like a blubbering idiot.  I'm not ready to claim victory yet, but my bengal seems to be recovering now.  He's walking again but not jumping or going up/down any stairs.  Of all things, the drug that is helping him is... Prednisone.  Yep, the same stuff some of us have to endure once in a while.  If this continues to improve, it will rule out the spinal cancer.  I was *such* a basket case this last few days (I know, over a cat) but this cat is such a huge part of my life.  Thank you all for the notes and phone calls, it did make me feel better.

That is one beautiful cat Fubar.  Hope the pred works and he dosen't puff up like a blow fish.

edit:  It may be only a cat, but I'll side with you.  I will tolerate dogs,  but I love cats.

Own three myself.

Not a cat, a part of your family. I cried for weeks when I lost Haiku. Hell, I had a wake @ the bar next door to my office that we have frequent HH's and 25 friends/co-workers showed up to toast him farewell. They are a huge part of our lives and you should not be ashamed to say so. I felt like I lost a son (I have no children) and Haiku was all Renee and I had for 17 of 18 years of marriage. Tears of joy, now. I am soooo happy for you.   :)

Fubar,

He is not just a cat.  He's a family member and a gorgeous one at that.  I'm glad he's feeling better.  Give him a pat and scratch for me.

*hugs*
Juvy

Please let me know if things improve or get worse.

Sending you and the kitty good vibes - hang tough brother.

Did you get a call from Virginia?  Can you make the 27th?  Give me a call when you come up for air.

Glad your cat is better. You shouldnt feel like an idiot, once you get attached to them, they might as well be human.

It's a beautifull animal.

Fu-

I'm so glad that Taz is feeling better!  Give him a smooch for me.

He's NOT just a cat.  He's family!  I was a basket case after I had to put Carly to sleep in March.

Now make sure he doesn't eat too many Quarter Pounders with cheese....that Prednisone can be a bitch!

Love,
V.

Fu,

Tom M put it very well.

Kathy and I too, have no children and our pets tend to become a major part of 'us' and our lives. Our 'children' bark rather than purr, and it really hurts when they are in pain or pass on.

Hope Taz responds well to the meds.

Peace,
dan

Shawn~~~Glad that beautiful creature is doing better... Do you know that when my Big Brother Buddy a 6'4" hulk of a man went through his divorce (wife left after 20 years)... a white cat named Spike got him through the sadness.  He said that the cat kept him going and gave him a reason to live and exist everyday.  I got my tabby cat because of the wonder of this " Spike" and have never been sorry.  You are not a blubbering idiot... you have shown your human side.  I'm glad you have each other... Love to you Ree

Fubar....

what a beautiful friend you have there....I am so glad things are better with him....

Just a cat?????

Right now, I'd *kill* for a cat :)

All my life I have lived with, and studied the behaviour of cats...(drop me an e-mail and I'll point you to a web page that has part of the book I am writting on Cat Behaviour) and now, amazing enough find myself living in a country that pretty much hates cats :(

Last night, one of the many street strays can up to me, hopped in my lap...and the people in the Kost (it is a type of bording home, apartment) I'm living at allowed him to stay there....I spent almost an hour with this poor, dirty, filthy street cat purring and treading in my lap....fighting tears the whole time....

That hour with that cat has done more to slow my CH's than anything else this freakin third World country has had to offer...so I understand how you feel....

Just a cat?????

No...

A cat will NEVER be "just a cat"

Sending good vibes his way

(oh, the Begal has always been my favorite cat...while I have spend my life doing feral rescue and would NEVER buy a cat...if I ever did, it would be a begal...without a doubt one of the most amazing cats on eath....)

Give him a rub under the chin from me....

ExPat_Jac...in the land of cat haters....

Now why can't the rest of us read it?

Very interested,

Well, Shawn, that's just the BEST news!  I think I'd probably win big money if I placed a bet that he's the only cat in the world that's got thousands of cluster peeps out here pulling for him and praying for him.

You're a great Cat Daddy, too, Fubar - we all can intimately understand that these furry children of ours have the ability to make our hearts soar AND also the power to rip our guts right out.

He's such a beautiful boy.  Cherish every moment with him.

Smiling big here for you.  :)
