Title: My first post Post by jslusarc on Aug 10th, 2004, 3:42pm hi guys. this is my first post. as well the first day i have ever heard of such a thing as cluster headaches. i started seaching about this stuff last week when i got an odd headache at work. it happened around 12:30pm. it was only on the left side of my head and came on almost instantly. it just felt like pain and heavy pressure on my cheek. it also makes my left side of my face feel kinda numb. i thought i might be having a stroke or something! although i am only 23. anyway, it went away after about 30 mins. over the past week, i have had two more. same symptoms as before at the same time. infact as i write this i am experiencing one. although it really hurts, my headaches aren't diblitating like have read about for some others...do you think that these head aches could be a sign of cluster headaches? *ouch *ouch *ouch thanks for your input :D Jason [smiley=huh.gif] |

Doesn't sound like it to me, however you should go and see your doctor and let him tell you what he thinks, diagnosis via message boards can get a person killed, due to improper treatment of a serious medical condition. |

Title: Re: My first post Post by Leesa on Aug 10th, 2004, 3:48pm HI Jason, if ya got Clusters your in the right place. Now... for the fun part look to the left of this and you will see all kinds of info be a sponge and soak it all up. Take the cluster quiz and see if it matches with what ya got. READ READ READ honey. Get to a neuro ASAP and find out if you have CH. Round here a good neuro that knows CH is worth his/her weight in gold. Best of luck to you hun. I hope and pray CH is NOT what you have. Take care of YOU, Leesa ;;D |

Title: Re: My first post Post by Jeepgun on Aug 10th, 2004, 3:48pm Dear Jason, I dearly hope you don't have cluster headaches. What you're describing *could* be cluster headaches, but first I would rule out any sinus problems. Perhaps monitor what's going on, what symptoms you have, check out the links to the left and fill out the questionnaire. Beyond that, there's not much else to do, except to wait and see if the headaches recur, if they are the in same spot, and what the intensity is. Welcome aboard. Again, I hope that you don't have cluster headaches, but if you do, you've come to the one place on the Internet that can help you and your doctor decide upon an effective course of action. My best to you, -Frank |

Sound advice, Thomas. Jason--see a doc, preferably a Nuerologist. Do not self diagnose but read all the info you can find. And lastly, Welcome aboard! TomM |

excellent response, Thomas - my sentiments exactly. Jason, get a cluster knowledgeable neuro's (or at least a GP's) opinion. Doesn't sound like cluster to me either -cluster IS debilitating and most sufferers WOULDN'T be able to type out a post while they are in the middle of an attack. Keep digging! Don't ignore (or self-diagnose) what could be a serious symptom of something else going on. |

Title: Re: My first post Post by Charlie on Aug 10th, 2004, 8:11pm Sorry you have to deal with this and I certainly hope you aren't involved with this horror. Just a couple things. Cluster headaches will wake youi out a sound sleep. They come on quickly and end just as fast. They sort of drain away. No one can still still or rest during a cluster attack. Let us know how you make out with your MD. Charlie |

Title: Re: My first post Post by Callico_Kid on Aug 11th, 2004, 1:44am Ditto to all of the above, but with that being said, that sounds very much the same as mine started years ago. If they continue in a regular pattern and intensify it would be a lot more indicative. It is very important though that you don't try to self-diagnose. Get a good Dr and get an MRI to rule out anything else that could have similar symptoms. Also, keep a diary of your HAs and check for patterns as to when you get hit. That can be very helpful to your Doc. Jerry PS Welcome aboard, but I hope you don't need to stay. |
