Post by Annette_Emond on Aug 8th, 2004, 6:21pm It was a tough weekend for me in BV- I did some packing, and had to make several calls on people who may be able to help in regard to helping with the move, taking the dog, and helping me with keeping the place looking decent if it goes up for sale soon. I kept bursting into tears, as I feel so torn with all this. Dave is so weak, he can do almost nothing. He is still losing weight at an alarming rate, can't seem to get hydrated no matter how much he drinks, and with the foods he must eat for the next while, even the dog food looks and smells good to him. There were a couple of times though that I caught the old twinkle in his eye, and after I wiped my silent tears, I told him that those are the times that I live for. I fear that we may be in need of the wheelchair again soon if he doesn't start to improve soon. Thank you all for your prayers and messages of support. I will keep you updated, but right now, things don't look too good- none of his treatments seem to be taking any effect yet. Everytime you eat a candy bar, cereal, milk, wheat, bread, sugar, anything really, say a prayer for Dave. :) thanks. Annette ps.. He SOUNDS better today.. still has no get up and go at all, but just the lifted spirit in his voice made me feel better. I come back these boards and see what has been going on, and it's beyond anything I could ever ask for. To see those who believe in fasting and prayer as I do, then especially those who may not be of the same faith but still are willing to go to any lengths to help another, just amazes me to no end! Had I not seen any immediate results this Sunday, I would still have been sure they would come in some form, I share that faith. I may or may not get physical healing, but we shall see overtime. But! What happened to me Sunday? I slept almost the whole day! I haven't had more than 3 hours sleep in any 24 hour period for longer than I can remember! If you knew how much a blessing this alone was! But wait ... there's more! :) When I did wake up, there were calls on my answering machine. All concerning things that I've tried so hard not to let stress me these days, as stress is my biggest enemy right now in order for me to win this battle. Calls included: A possible good home for our dog, Keno is part of our family; we know we have to let him go which is very hard, but it will be best for him and selfish of us to keep him when we can't give the attention he needs. :'( but :D A call from someone who might be interested in buying our home ... we haven't even listed it yet, nor knew how we'd move things. :D Then a call of help to move both our house and storage from those we used to work with at the local Mission and Habitat for Humanity! :D Another call about getting a local youth group to come over and do an overhaul on our front and back yards to make the house look sellable! :D These are the calls I got while of all things ... sleeping! Then Annette got a couple calls back in Denver. Some very dear friends have already sent her some very gracious funds to help us through. (I just found this out, I was on the phone all day trying to organize payment plans for bills, with not as much luck as I had hoped, but that is now solved.) :-* Each of these things are areas that I've tried so hard not to stress about, because my doctor had already told me, with the failing immune system, stress is one of the biggest factors in surviving or not. I would say these are answers far more than I could have expected and these blessings are because of all of you and your caring strength and faith. I may not be healing physically, but maybe it's more important I heal mentally first? Jonny, I fought my way out of the wheelchair not long ago, and I'll fight just as hard to stay out of it again. Cat, tell me “I can't” and you know I will, (you know me too well ;)), but Annette makes me absolutely promise her I won't attempt some things, if she didn't ... well ... I would be, so that's tough. Donna, what can I say to you for starting all this? :-* I'm speechless now, but will be writing you very soon, and many others. Might take me a bit, but know I'll be writing as many of you as I can. If it takes a while, know it means it's because I'm finally getting some rest thanks to ALL of you. Around the world at that! This family never ceases to amaze me ... Never! I thank you all so much for your care and I want to make sure you know that your prayers, fasting and support has made huge differences all in one day that will also have lasting results to carry us into whatever the future may hold. Next update, hopefully, will show that the test results are positive and that your immune system is on the mend, and that the medications are doing what they are supposed to do. No one will ever convince me that Daves good news is a mere coincidence. As a child asks for privileges, we as parents might say "wait until you grow up a little more, when you'll be ready for more". So does our Lord asks us to wait 'til He thinks the time is right. We "wait on the Lord". I know in my heart that Dave is in for more good. I believe in Miracles! We have just seen one....have we not? Could all of these great things have just "happened" on the very day that we made our pledge of fasting and prayer to God for Dave? It doesn't matter who thought up the day of fasting and prayer. What matters is that the Holy Spirit spoke to ALL our hearts to respond to Daves condition AND HE HEARD US!!!. Our God is an Awesome God!! |
