I reeceived an e-mail from Nadia saying that this afternoon docs said she is improving!!! :) :) :) THANKS GOD!!!

Her O2 levels in the blood are going up!!!

FINALLY A GOOD NEWS!!!!

Yes this is very good news.

I thought it important to pass along a little information. An important testament to a family and also as a lesson to us all.
The moral of this story is that our children become like ourselves.
I had never met or even posted/emailed/IM'd or had any contact with Zaira before this. I'm sure that all of you that have met her, know her to be a compassionate and caring person. I had gotten that just from reading her posts so it was surely even more evident to those that have had the honor to meet her in person.
The day before the announcement of her hospitalization, I had written to her about someone else in Italy that was having headache troubles and could not find adequate help in Italy. "Rachele" was in trouble and needed help. I thought of Zaira since they are close to the same age and thought Zaira could help.

The next day I read here about Zaira's condition. Not only did I feel terrible to hear about Zaira, but I had just referred a very sick lady to another very sick lady.

What to my surprise do I get in my email but a letter from Valentino, telling me about Zaira and telling me that HE would help out Rachele. He had already written back to her and offered to work with others to find her help. Rachele wrote and told me that Zaira's sister had also written her.
Not only was this entire family, in the middle of an enormous family emergency, reaching out to help someone they didn't know, but were doing so based upon an email from someone else they didn't know. That's anonymous, two times removed!

This is a testament to a families resolve to help mankind. Not based upon friendships, or borders, or any of the divisions we humans like to use to separate ourselves from the rest of the world. To offer help based only upon a desire to never turn away from another human being in need of help. To help others even at a time when most people would understandably turn in upon themselves to solve their own suffering.

I would say, God bless Zaira and her family, but I have a suspicion that they would rather I ask, May God bless you all, including Zaira and her family.

Was talking to Val the other night,
The reason that Zazi does not wants flowers is that she hates them there at the hospital in general
Best way we can show her our love is to drown her with postcards.

Just received another e.mail fom Nadia saying that Zaira continues to improve!!!!

Docs says she's getting better very quickly now...!!!

Still asleep, but hopefully she'll be "UP" soon!!!

Thank God this silly nightmare is going to finish!
