Letter of Gratitude

Don’t know how to start this. Tears in my eyes all the time. Just has to.

It is something that I will have with me for the rest of my life. Has to pinch my arm and check all the pricks to believe it’s true. Was so exited on the way over, even manage survive without the ciggies! Had some problems at Dulles international, but everything went just fine. Got my luggage the day after. The first two that met me were Dave and Linda. Damn I just love those two. Found out that our luggage was still at Dulles after the paperwork was done. Suddenly Charlie was behind my back. You was a lot taller then expected Charlie, but a GREAT FRIEND. Needed a ciggie and Linda showed the way out and kept me company. Did see this ugly bastard in a wheelchair and this beautiful girl sitting on the suitcase beside him. Just heard “That has to be Svenn,” before I recognized the knuclehead. Cant thank you enough Chuck. Finally meet you face to face. I have a new brother now and damn proud that you were there to meet me. Steph, you know what to do if he not behaves. We are all behind you :)
Never forget Chuck`s first welcome-words to Linda “WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU”There and then those words could have melted the northpole.
After the heartbeat got under control with the ciggie, we just relaxed waiting for Luke to show up with the transport.

What a welcome at the hotel. Don’t have the words for that. That was pure love all the way, no more no less. After settling in the room we got down to the patio and got to know the people, even that long haired self claimed KING. Damn that guy has a heart of gold.

Friday I asked Luke to drive me to the airport and check our luggage. OK he said. He was supposed to pick up Cathi Pierce. Great I thought. We met Cathi there first. After a lot of hugging and Luke told Cathi about our luggage she was rather pissed...All I could see in that redheaded girl’s eyes was FIRE & LIGHTNING! .You better watch out knucklehead, and don’t be harassing Cathi to much. I afraid to be around Cathi when she be pissed next time. Somebody going to be flamed she said to Luke. Got to the baggage claim and the luggage was there waiting. Think United Airlines should be glad the luggage was there.

Luke had to drive us around to get a new suitcase because the security at Dulles had destroyed ours. Never a no in his mouth. Damn I just love that guy. THNX LUKE. You are a true friend.

The rest of Friday was just like a dream for me & Bente.

No words fit the time I met Edna so I leave it there. DAMN I just love that woman and her family. On Sunday Edna and her family invited us to see Graceland/Memphis. WHAT A PLACE. To see that place was like a dream comes true for me! WOW!

And DJ, what words can say what you have done for me? You have saved my life. Now I have met you.

Then Monday arrived and the sad part that some of those that got to be my friends had to leave, first Luke and then Dan. What happened there has NEVER EVER happened to me before. Don’t know why but I just started to cry like a little baby. Sorry for that Dan.

Then it was me and Bente that had to leave. Somehow Chuck manage to wake up Stephanie (don’t know how) to breakfast at 08:30. After a great breakfast I asked Chuck to follow us to the airport so we could spend as much time together. They did (thank you both from the bottom of my heart Chuck & Steph). Jayne did drive us there. Thank you Jayne. Started to cry like a baby there too, when we had to say good bye.

I KNOW that I have forgotten many names so I only hope you forgive me for that
One last thing that can’t be forgotten:

A BIG THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART FOR THOSE THAT MAKE MY DREAMS COME TRUE AND PAID FOR MY & BENTE`S TRIP TO USA.

Svenn, it was our pleasure to help get you here, and our HONOR to finally meet you face to face. You made my, and many other's, convention extra special. I know I can die a happy man, now that I have met you and Bente. But I ain't ready to die YET!!! By hook or by crook, I am going to see you again!!!

Damn I miss everyone !!!!

Some one move that freekin' cigarette away ... The smoke is floating right to my eyes ... Making them all watery ...

Svenn, it was truly an honor and a pleasure to meet you and Bente. *shit... Having typed only one sentence, I have tears in my eyes* Anyway, thank you for making the journey, and I'm sorry for the trouble you had with your luggage. Thank you also, for the programing and all the hard work you've put into the CHATS program. I believe it has the potential to help all of us.

My new friend isn't exactly diminutive either. Good Viking stock. You're a lucky man Svenn. Better be nice to Bente.

It was wonderful meeting you and yours. I'm not the most demonstrative twerp but it was hard to leave you too. It was great to yak and drink with you. Would that I had contributed so much to OUCH. You're a scary person Svenn. We owe you a lot. I'm still angry at what the paranoid morons did to your luggage. What a way to be welcomed to America. >:(

Like you, meeting Edna and family helped make my day. I still think they have something on their kids. No one is that nice.

I'm very glad you got to Memphis and Graceland to see a bit more of the country. So far you've covered Tennessee. Only 49 more sates to go. How about Hawaii kids for the next con?

I need more time with you and look forward to your next visit. You're great people and I haven't met a clustered that wasn't...even Chuck 8)

Svenn that was a beautiful letter. I wish I had been able to talk to you more, just seemed like there was never enough time...and then attempting to talk to Bente, I felt like an idiot. But she is a sweet lady Svenn :).

So glad you got to fulfill your dream - good idea Charlie, Hawaii ? I can see you, Svenn & Chuck on the beach with doo rags and surfboards checking out the ~~chicks~~ surf.. :D.... Bente relaxing on a chair...

Come back and visit again!

You are correct, in that there are NO words (not even pictures of the moment...lol) to describe our meeting.

You're slick though, you made me believe it was Bente who was gaga over Elvis......LOL You sneaky you.

Yep, Svenn is quite the special man. My daughter sacrificed a day to see the home of "Elvis" and EVEN came away with a t-shirt she DID wear.....all for Svenn. LOL

You see, I have two sisters who have always adored Elvis. Kali once told her godmother, you can will ALL your Elvis memorabilia to someone else when you die, I don't want it. She always wanted to take Kali to Graceland and Kali said NO. LOL........butttttttttt..............for SVENN from NORWAY........SHE GOES. BOY Svenn, she owes you now for all the slamming she received on that one...... ;;D My sister was floored when she showed up bowling with an Elvis t-shirt on!!!!!!! hehehehehehehehehe

Just goes to show you pal, we all loved having you. You are indeed a special person and much loved by many here. As for them tears of yours that you tell me have never happened before..........well let's see.......we sure as hell tried to make you feel as welcomed here as we could.....You know, show you and Bente both a little bit of our culture here. WELL........all I can say is....WE DONE A GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!

Since we couldn't get you to like our "cookies" (biscuits) here for breakfast........lol.......guess we could leave a big enough mark on your heart to get the tears to come!!!

As I've said before, upon our departure from the motel I was actually OK in hugging YOU good-bye.....but ooooooooo Lordy, when I hugged on Bente.......... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(...........I cry now to think of what a wonderful person she is. I had to leave quick, quick outta there after that........or I would have indeed caused a scene and would have been toooo late in getting home that day!! I just can never express the gratitude I have to her for allowing us to be such great friends!

Bente has indeed left quite an impression with me, and I for one most certainly feel quite connected with her now. She is such a remarkable person for making the journey with you here, to meet a bunch of headache nuts who keep you away from her so much of the time at home......hehehehehe.....(as I've said before to you though, if you got your fat ass away from the computer screen long enough to give the REST of your family a chance....we'd know them all better....hehehehehehe)

Bente was just soooo sweet in everything we did together with her. My family and I just enjoyed having the two of you with us on Sunday soooooo much. And as for telling me that her English is not very good.....YOU LIED!!!! LOL Bente indeed caught on to quite a few of the things Kali and I would say. She'd laugh along with us and we knew she understood, and that at least made us happy.

THEN, you hold out on us all and not tell us about those GREAT massages of hers. Well, let me tell you......oh no, better not....poor Bente would never get a rest on her next visit here.

I could go on forever, but I know everyone here will get quite bored.

Just know you and she are forever etched in my heart, with a place that remains all your own.
