Title: Yahoo/MyDoom worm Post by Root on Aug 4th, 2004, 11:41am This only affects MS users who use Yahoo. The rest of us appear to be safe. So if you get Yahoo e-mail from Paul, floridian, Purplydog, Root et al. Don't worry about it. Everyone else is a suspected virus carrier, and should not be trusted. We come in peace [smiley=smokin.gif] http://www.theregister.com/2004/08/04/mydoom_targets_yahoo/ |

Title: Re: Yahoo/MyDoom worm Post by floridian on Aug 4th, 2004, 11:48am Don't trust me. If my name is in someone's address book and they get infected, a virus could pretend to be me. I mostly send private messages anyway, not email, and that is more secure. I usually don't send attachments without first sending someone a heads-up, telling them what to expect - not some generic 'here's your file' but rather, "Dear Joe, how's it going, hope your PF. Here's a pdf on magnesium that you may be interested in. I found it at: www.magnesiumrocks.com/therapy.html" |

Title: Re: Yahoo/MyDoom worm Post by Carl_D on Aug 4th, 2004, 11:48am Thanks for the heads up. Especially since my Norton expired and my brother STILL hasn't come over to install a new AV program they use at his work. Peace, Carl D |
