Thanks for the the one accupunture treatment yeaterday I WAS CLUSTER HEADACHE FREE LAST NIGHT.  I was surprised to see how many menatlly challanged people responsed to my last post It must have been there fixation on how road kill reminded them of there favorite holiday dinners...or maybe they   remember being told to go play being invisble on there nearest free ways by there mommys.  those people best find there way to the mental health sites so that the people here can share there support an not get tunred away by the mentally disturbed .

Look, may be this idiot kind person is just trying to share his miraculous success with us.  I think it's funny how everybody wants to call him a snake oil salesman since I haven't seen one attempt to profit from the knowledge he is attempting to share.  I have serious doubts that he has what we refer to as cluster headaches, but it does sound like he had something and it was cured by accupuncture.  La dee fuckin Da for him.  If it was that simple for us, I'd be doing backflips.  However, I know it won't fix me, and I'm pretty damn sure it won't fix anybody else who has real cluster headaches.

Oh well.  At least he is pain free now and has no reason for needing support here.

Assuming this guy is for real, he has every reason to be pissed off.  His original post, while extremely difficult to read, appeared to be nothing more than an explanation that he found something that worked for him and he was sharing it with the group.  Like Fubar said, there was no obvious attempt to profit from the statement.  

If I'm not mistaken, there was at least one person (an accepted member of this group) among the several who admitted to trying acupuncture that said it did initially work for them and then quit working.

I have absolutely no problem with running off the snake oil salesmen.  I've help do it in the past and I will again.  I do have a problem with raking a newby over the coals for making a seemingly innocent statement.  Given time, he may have revealed himself to be either a profiteer or a Ted.  At that time, it's Katie bar the door.  A lot of people were on him like white on rice before they ever found out.

It's accupuncture kids.

How I wish there was something so simple and effective. One of the reasons it gets a lot of play, is that it isn't medical. It's harder going to a real doctor. It means that you have to play by their rules. You never know what kind of scary crap you may have to put up with when dealing with someone with a diploma.

Accupuncture is waste of time, money, and energy.

Too tedious to adequately respond to.  Suffice to say, being that he has been lurking since May 9, his name does not appear on a single thread in any of the topic boards where acupuncture is mentioned.  Choosing to begin a post with the word "miracle" is of course.......
 I would think that if he were to extoll the "miracle" of acupunture, on an acupuncture thread would have been appropriate.  Sitting on his "miracle" for three months was quite the display of restraint, which was not evident in yesterday or today's post.
 More stuff too.

Years ago, I tried acupuncture and had great results for the first 3 or 4 days.

After that, all the 'doctor' relieved me of was money!

Of course to Gator, Jayne and Kimh, I certainly respect your opinions concerning this thread also.

Since beginning '02, the Medications and Treatments board complete archives will list three people claiming acupuncture stopped clusters.  The question of whether it was clusters which were stopped though was dubious and left unanswered, also as to whether they were episodic or chronic was not clear.  One claimed cheek and neck pain had vanished.   One seemed to be convinced of his success and has not been posting since on the subject.
 Several days of relief were reported by some, and one claiming complete relief had such a professional answer as to wonder if he was plying the trade, his pattern didn't fit clusters very closely and left the questioning of it unanswered.  
 An episodic claimed one years relief as of so far, which can happen for a number of reasons for a year to an episodic.  
 So Greg, it seems, has been extremely lucky, though unposted to a single acu thread for over two years.  
 Needless to say, there were many posts about acupuncture.

I am well aware of the issues regarding acupuncture.  It is my opinion that it is a crock of shit.

Here is my problem with this thread:

The name calling;
The childish ridicule of another human being in pain without thoughtful consideration - it was fun for many here and continues to be so - FUCKED UP >:(;
The inuendos that Greg is some snake oil salesman when there was NO indication that such was the case;
The statement that he was trying to "lead us around by the nose" chrissake the guy put up one freaking post.  Ridiculous;
Some even insuate that Greg is Ted for fuck sake.

End of rant.

The only issue i am concerned about at this time is Greg the person.  Whoever he is i wish him pf times.

The rest is a pile of shit and completely worthless to me.

O.K. if Kim is right and Greg was just posting a "happy to be PF" post, than he "no doubt about it" is an episodic. Maybe he just ended a cycle. I know over the years I thought I found the cause and/or cure as each cycle ended. Of course each time they returned I realized it was a crock and there is NO cure. Not yet anyways.

Down with accupuncture/chiropractor/snake oil & any of that other bullshit.

Well, all I can say in my own defense, is that I didn't even respond to the other thread.  And I only responded to this one, because people on this board were attacked, in a childish manner, so being the mature adult that I am  ;)  I responded in kind.  If that is a problem for some people, I'm sorry, but I will NOT sit around and watch those that I love be told to go play in traffic on the damn freeway.

That was me, Gator.  As I said, I tried it before I was officially diagnosed with CH.  It was a bad cycle (Of course, I had no idea what a cycle was then  ;) and was just about ready to "acupuncture" myself in the head with a nail gun or a 44 Magnum.

I had a couple of PF days the first time I tried it but more NMM days (no more money) the next times.  As I said, I don't believe it worked for me.

But if it works for somebody else or for other problems, great!  But I have no clue.

I apologize for my insensitivity to people who cannot spell, or should not type while drinking. I posted a fun pic on the other thread I THOUGHT everyone would get the pun (stuffed up nose, finger in eye.)
Guess it was just the "Mommys" comment that sent me over the edge.
You can talk about brothers and sisters but, when you start messing with peoples mom's...
that is like lighting a match and throwing it onto gas-soaked wood and being shocked when it ignites.

Also, I have a medical reason for my outburst. It seems I have developed 'Typing Tourrettes.'  ;;D
