Title: OUCH board... (all please read) Post by Carl_D on Jul 31st, 2004, 1:26am I went to the OUCH board and tried to log in. It said my username and password "Does not exist" I request an email for my s/n and p/w - verified. Tried again. Username and Password does not exist. Since I can't put my two cents in over there, I will address the issue here. I steer clear from the politics of the hubub and stuff. I leave that to the minds who 'CONTROL' OUCH. Since I am merely a member, I haven't really posted too much over there, and CH.com is pretty much my homebase. It wasn't until this morning when I read the posts on the board and seen how blown up everything got that I realized "WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!" Instead of this person calling so and so, and so and so relaying a message, and this person getting an email and.... (does anyone see where I am going with this?) There MUST be an open line of communication with the Prez, VP, advocacy group, and BoD so that everyone is on "THE SAME PAGE" if we are to aviod the chaos continuing into DalCon '05. I suggest that all the above - Prez, VP, A.C. and BoD schedule a set time each week for a "Board Chat" that is convenient for everyone, so issues can be addressed, and a plan of action set into motion. I thought maybe a weekly conference call, but that would be very complicated to organize, whereas an online discussion (not just posts, but a 'meeting') could better be on the "Same Page." I believe we all want what is best for OUCH to succeed, but there needs to be order brought about from the chaos that ensued this year which resulted in alot of hurt feelings and, jeapoardized a Dr's position in her profession. It doesn't matter if you believe in God or not (I don't know WHAT I believe anymore) but Jesus taught many things that ring true, and there is one thing that came to mind tonight as I talked with a fellow CH bro. Jesus said "A house divided cannot stand." I think this applies to this situation. I'll use this analogy: Four people can be walking a horse down the road, each holding a reign to each leg. If the four are not walking in the same direction, they will not only reach thier destination - but pull the horse apart. OUCH is for all of us as a whole, not as individuals. That is my take on things, and just my humble opinion. I wrestled with whether to post this or not, and I mean no offense to anyone on the committee or any members. As I stated above, I avoid the politics, but maybe it's time I DID get more involved with what is going on. Peace, Love, Light and godpseed to OUCH and our leaders in office. Carl D |

Title: Re: OUCH board... (all please read) Post by Dave_Emond on Jul 31st, 2004, 1:53am Hey Carl, Yes, we had some real problems there, but we are on the mend now. Before this all started we were talking about starting up a "Town Hall" where we would have weekly chats with as many BoD present as possible. This will still be done as soon as we clean up our last mess and get things back in order. What we'll do is set up a thread to post suggested topics from Members, whichever seems to be of most importance, we'll schedule a time for Members to come in and discuss that topic in detail. Hopefully, if enough are interested we can take on new topics each week to keep the Members up to date on whatever they choose to learn more about. We can also set varying times to try to meet as many Members chances to speak with the BoD as possible. May be able to even expand this whole "Town Hall idea even further than this. Who knows? Maybe even have Board Members take time slots to be in the chat room 24/7 or as close as we can work out something like that? Will now need a couple weeks probably to get a full Board back in place, but we do have this idea on our agenda and will be presenting it soon. Glad you did bring it up here Carl, we'll let everyone know when we get this idea underway. Thanks for the input, always want to hear from Members, we're all in this together! Dave |

Title: Re: OUCH board... (all please read) Post by Dave_Emond on Jul 31st, 2004, 2:32am Carl, If you were a member of OUCH in the past before the "new boards" came up, then yes, you do need to join again to get access to the Business Boards. When Annette and I change screen names to see the message boards, sometimes I have to enter my username and password over and over and over and over .... again, to get signed back on. Don't why that happens, or if it happens to others, but I eventually get back in. :P Mind f I thrown in a commercial here? ;;D Joining OUCH now is still free, until January, 2005. Might be a good time to join and see where we head with the new Board Members coming in, the Committees working on projects that will be so valuable to all sufferers. we're restructuring and building and can use all the help we can get. This offer only valid through January, please see your local Chapter for actual prices. Employees and their family are not exempt from joining. ;) Dave |
