The gov keeps telling us to go about our daily lives or the terrorists have won.

In my view, they won a long time ago. This issue and many more like them have been going on since 9/11. They went so far as to try and arrest a child for eating 'freedom fries' while in a station.

In the DC metro system, a person is not even allowed to use the public restrooms during times of special events in the DC area. The claim.....we need to keep em locked to maintain security.

Just glad I did not see this encounter, for I too, would be sitting behind bars right now.

That annoyed me. If you go to the link listed on that story, WMATA, you can contact them for complaints.

I felt the urge to voice my opinion, even though it didn't pertain to me. It did piss me off though, because it was a female, and I feel I need to back her. Not to mention I love candy bars...and I should back candy bay eaters everywhere! And NO ONE is gonna tell me when I can eat one!

The Metro line has been this way for years just gotten worse since 9-11. The sad part is I havent lived in the DC Metro area for 6 yrs and I still know its that bad!! LMAO

I complain everyday...I ride the DC Metro to/from work EFD....this time of year is bad with all the tourons and such. "Stand on the Right. Walk on the left." Is that too much to understand? I axe you???

Acknowledging the title of this thread...having read the article. Say all you like about 9-11, security, yada yada yada....I am still left to wonder...WTF does eating candy and/or french fries have to do with terrorism or the juvenile crime rate in Washington?

This country is just plain falling apart at the seams. Illegal aliens they have rights................since when..... they are illegal aliens for god sake. Eating a candy bar, don't police have any thing to do like solve a real crime. No it is far easier to arrest and fine someone who has the ability to pay. it is not the crime any more it is the money. They can't hardly tax us more so why not they arrest and fine us for the money they need to watch us. so they can arrest us. sound like a visious circle. here is a good one

guy get a notice that he needs a mining permit???? he wonders why he is contacted about this. so he calls and finds out that they have thru sateilite photos pictures of his place and calculated that he moved enough dirt at his farm that he now needs an mining permit. the point is we paid for the sateilite and they are using it to get more money from us
