I saw this on our local news tonight:

(KSDK) - A St. Peters couple was killed when their Jeep plunged down a Colorado mountain.

Vern Huntington, 50, and his wife Susan were driving on what's called Black Bear Pass, near Telluride, Colorado. It is a popular place for Jeep enthusiasts to ride on trails along the side of a cliff. It's a one way path that is very narrow and has no guardrails.

The couple's Jeep went off the road, and landed nearly a thousand feet below.

Friends say they were experienced Jeep trail drivers.

The newscast also mentioned that they weren't wearing seat belts. Not that it would've helped on a 1,000 foot drop but I'd think an experienced 'Jeep trail driver' would be strapped in

Yeah, I read that on a Jeep board that I'm on... Tragic... I am a fanatic about seatbelts. Before the Heep moves an inch (when it's running! ;;D ) everyone is buckled up. Seatbelts only come off AFTER the engine is off. And if weather conditions are horrible, I keep my ass in the house. 8)
