Hypnotic homecoming, crawling to embrace the dark roots ingest the Bad Seed rend the scarlet fog Euphoric metamorphosis Hot breath steams with carnage Pant for the slaughter in the bonedry Golgotha Wasteland Our pack, our pride, our feline tribe sprawls in these tortured branches in predatory repose waiting for moonrise. -F. Title: Re: For Cat Lovers Post by Root on Jul 28th, 2004, 11:35am Siberian Tigers are the coolist cats IMHO [smiley=cool2.gif] http://www.acoustics.org/press/140th/eliasandcarmilita.jpg These two are actually sub-vocalizing. Wonder if they're talking about thier last meal or the next. Or whom? |

Wouldn't you love to here those guys purr? |

Title: Re: For Cat Lovers Post by Root on Jul 28th, 2004, 12:05pm They don't purr, but they have a language that they sub-vocalize. Really interesting. Although I'm not advocating you stand next to a 600 Lbs. Siberian to figure out what he is saying. These 2 are "talking" at 18 hertz about 2 hertz lower than human hearing. The guy on the left is about 730 Lbs. and the one on the right is 750 Lbs. They are both 9 feet long. Oh and they live in the wild. So be carefull out there. |

Title: Re: For Cat Lovers Post by Jeepgun on Jul 28th, 2004, 1:44pm I have a black leopard living in my head. Every once in a while, he pounces and digs his sharp claws into my right eye. He's a cute little fella, but likes to play rough. |

Title: Re: For Cat Lovers Post by ExPat_jac on Jul 29th, 2004, 2:40am Very good Root...most people know little of big cats (or little ones for that matter) I have worked with cats all my life (currently writting a book on Feral Cat Behaviour) The big cats are cool...touchy, unpridictable, but wonderful if you have the chance to work with them... I have always loved working with the tigers. Once you touch one, see one upclose, you understand the TRUE meaning of the term "man eatter"! :) Cats have been a major part of how I've been able to live with CH...my cats never bitch, never get upset with my dance, know when to be there for me, know when I wish to be left alone... Life without a cat, is a poor life.... Soon, very soon, I hope to be in a posistion to be able to have a cat again. The country I am in for the most part hates cats, and seeing the conditions of the street cats of Jakarta breaks my heart.... Sorry for the rant y'all...but just thinking of cats even for a little time, causes me to realize how very much they have helped me over the years.... jac Note to Jim: Yeah...you have to lead a bit to the right to get um :) ( even as much as I love them, I am still able to joke and know when one does not mean it in hate...heck, I even have a "Kitty Killing Song" I sing to mine... You can kill a kitty With a Rock If thats all you got... It's fun and fast and easy when your killing Kitties When you got a rock! (repeat with "stick", "knife", "bat", "brick" till cat is happily purring in your arms... (they love the "fun and fast and easy" part) ;).) |

Title: Re: For Cat Lovers Post by Jeepgun on Jul 29th, 2004, 3:25pm I love it, Jaq! I have a female, orange semi-longhair tabby named Kiki (who looks just like a little fox) and a jet-black male named Jiji who looks like a miniature leopard. I'm always making up silly little songs to sing to them, as I hold them in my lap and pet them. The lyrics are always along the lines of what you posted, too. They don't care... They purr and knead, and snuggle, and are so darn happy... LOL (silly ol' fuzzy-wuzzy kitties...) ;;D It is my firm opinion that if evolution had seen fit to give felines the opposable thumb, cats would rule the world. (Actually, they DO, but they are kind enough to let homo sapiens think that they are the ones running the show!) ;;D |

Title: Re: For Cat Lovers Post by Jeepgun on Jul 29th, 2004, 10:15pm Ronny, in the row of icons directly above the smiley faces, fourth button from the left, you see what looks like a portrait in a white frame. Click on it, and you will receive an open/close HTML tag like this: [.img] and [./img] (Without the periods) In between those two tags, you insert a complete address of the photo's location on the 'net, and voila: It will post. The address should look something like: "http://www._______.com/phatkitties.jpg" |
