Title: Re: On the Lighter side (part 2) Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Jul 25th, 2004, 7:10pm Redd - I remember when you did this the last time and you even shared some recipes with me. Now I'd kinda like to know just where you live - I'm thinkin' we should all show up at your house on a Sunday. Your dinner sounds delicious! Ours sounds kind of boring now - breaded pork chops, baby new potatoes, carrots, (done with your recipe) salad and bluebery pie with ice cream for desert. |

Title: Re: On the Lighter side (part 2) Post by FZfan on Jul 25th, 2004, 7:22pm real basic stir-fry (green pepper, onions, carrots, and celery) seasoned with salt, garlic/black pepper mix, and sesame oil. Threw in half a can of chicken and some Thai noodles with peanut sauce. Wife loved it. I added hot sauce to mine. No, I didn't snort the hot sauce. I love to cook, hate to clean-up afterwards. Love FoodTV channel. Watch it all the time. Anyone else? My favorite show is Good Eats. |

Title: Re: On the Lighter side (part 2) Post by Charlie on Jul 26th, 2004, 5:26pm Meatloaf of course. I haven't posted my meatload recipe in a long time: Chisel out enough room in the microwave for your thawed Beefalo; the stuff in back, not the package from 1998, leave in plastic tray. Mix with Hamburger Helper, onion sticks, and Ketchup enhanced green tomato paste. Toss in some fake salt and Bacon Bits if you wanna go nuts. Pound on the microwave key pad to see if you can set the timer. You probably can't so forget this step. Head for the couch, pop in one of your Celebrity Poker videos and relax. When the smoke alarm goes off, it's done. After you've satisfied your neighbors and the fire trucks have gone, take out the meatloaf. I usually find that it's a bit easier to separate the melted plastic from the meatloaf if you run it under cold water. Poke around in the cupboard for an unprententious wine cooler, grab your Ron Popiel's electric knife, set up your TV tray, select one of your C-SPAN book tour videos and enjoy. Serves one...only once, so far. Charlie |
