I say we all just give in and do what Bop P says from now on.
I will never again raise money for Ouch Uk (which I am a member of) Because he didn't like that.

We will not encourage and applaud the efforts of Pinlfloyd and gang.

We will have seperate conventions for ouch and CH.COM

We will all slam people that make others laugh and that can laugh at themselves.

Ok I give in, tell us what to do Bob and we will do it, because it seems you have something negative to say when someone breathes around here.

I'm holding my breath and waiting for permission from you to continue to live!!!

Hey BobP,

I met you at the Vancouver convention and I do know that you are a reasonable guy, you do want the best for OUCH, and that you have worked very hard to improve things for OUCH.  In my very humble opinion, I might suggest that before you think about hurling that first over-ripe tomato you consider the following:

Are my actions getting me closer to my goals?  You think about this one and what your goals are for OUCH, are your current actions working toward these goals?

Thanks for the serious post.  I always try to let what's best for clusterheads guide my decisions and suggestions.  Mostly suggestions now days since I don't have any authority in OUCH now.

Yep, I was miffed that people would cough up $ for Jayne's OUCH UK fundraising but would ignore their own organization.  As a BoD member at the time, I would rather have seen the $ go to OUCH.

I'm totally in favor of the shroom research.  Probably done more than most people on this board to get the ball rolling 3 years ago.  I just have a problem with some of the attitudes I run into.

I do think a BoD members action were not appropriate at the convention.  I also think the Navy Tailhook guys were wrong for groping the ladies on their unoffical time.  And no, I'm not saying that hangin' a BA is equal to molesting women.  Just saying that even on unofficial time, Officers should have a certain level of decorum.

I also think there may be some merit in looking at the convnetion setup.  Maybe time to expand and diversify it after the great turnout this year.  It grows each time and will probably continue to.  I never said people shouldn't have fun at the convnetion, that is just what some people chose to hear.

I appreciate your reminder Marsha.  It's good to go back and look at what I've suggested and expressed.  I am satifyed that I've tried to keep thoughts of OUCH and clusterheads in the forefornt of my suggestions.

Chris....I think you've hit the nail on the head.

Bob P has actually spent more time and sweat on clusterheads than anyone thus far.  I may have had a few run-ins with him, but to be perfectly fair, he should have gotten praise for all he has done for our good.

Bob, you weren't at the convention. You didn't see Chuck getting hit left and right by cluster headaches and spending most of the time in a wheelchair. When he appeared in the bar, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry tears of joy. (So I did both)

If you don't approve of what happens at the convention, then it's best that you don't attend. If you weren't there and don't have the full context of events, then it would behoove you to learn how to keep your mouth shut.

Well said, Donna - few here today realize how much Bob Pahlow HAS done for OUCH.  There probably isn't anyone, to date, that HAS done more for the good of OUCH.  Might be a good idea for some of you to take a stroll through the OUCH board archives and see how many fires Bob put out during his tenure as President and how many inroads HE, singlehandedly, created for OUCH when it comes to public awareness and recognition.  He left some pretty big shoes to fill and, with no offense intended towards Don, Steve or Dave - he was perhaps the best President OUCH will ever see.  Let's not lose sight of the FACTS, ok?  Don, Steve and Dave have all brought great strengths to their position of President, as well.  However, Bob - in my opinion - has earned the right to throw tomatoes when and where he sees fit.  
Jayne, you know I love you and this is not meant to insult you at all - I just hate to see friends tearing each other apart like this.  As Ree said - I love you both.

I also know how much Bob has done for ouch, and when he left, I put aside my differences and emailed him and thanked him for all his work on our behalf.
Does that mean, I have to bow down and not have my voice and challenge "opinions" I think not. Especially when he tried to squash me and my efforts to help people.

That's because I was talking about myself.  Suppose I could have told you what you think (like a lot of people here are doing for me) but I'm not in the mood for that.

BTW - on the tomatoes thing.  That statement wasn't made in the context that I was going to sit back and make trouble.  The intent of that was that I will continue to watch and participate in OUCH (unlike a lot of others here) and if I see something that looks wrong or if I have another thought on a subject, I will offer it.

What the hell is this crap?  Bob has done a lot for OUCH and clusterheads in general.  I wasn't at the convention (beginning to thank God for that now) but if this group is so ready to torch a fellow clusterhead for expressing his opinion about whatever happened, well screw it.  Look, I don't know what the hell is going on with all this political BULLSHIT lately, but I am certainly glad I'm not in a position to have to deal with it.  I'm only writing this post now to express how disgusted I am with the tone of this place lately.  Everybody just go take a break and come back when you're not feeling like stringing somebody up.  Give it a rest.

A LOT of us have stepped in the shit before, me included.  The true test of a family is how that family reacts when a family member does do or say something stupid or offensive.  From MY vantage point, this looks just shitty all the way around.  Look, I'm not here to defend Bob or anybody else for that matter.  What I had to say was about the REST of this 'family' that seems so eager to beat another family member up, be it Elaine or Bob or [fill in the blank].  It just disgusts me and diminishes the experience.  I come here for comfort and support, not in-fighting and back biting.

I can have differences of opinions with some one, and yes perhaps verbally fight with them. I still would not like to see anyone hurt or hurting themselves.

Guys - I understand the need to vent.  I've done it more then once and in the past week I have gotten some support.  But there are some people here who have asked for help and advise and have been ignored partially because of the energy that has gone into this post.  

So some people are obnoxious and spout off their opinions right and left that does not mean that they are right. Some people think they are god but then again that does not mean that they are right.

Please put this energy into other things that are productive .

From what I have read of this post (which is far from all of it) I would not end up coming to a convention that was just ouch is there was a separate one for CH.com.  CH.com is my family. While I am a member of ouch, I do not have the ability to contribute.  And the people that I would want to meet and spend time with are the people who have become my support system from CH.com.

That is all I have to say.  I understand the anger and the apathy. But people this has got to stop before we lose people who need help.  For the first time in a year, I only checked the boards once today. Not just because I am working 12 + hour days but because I found nothing relaxing and comforting my coming here and this was m place for sanity away from rl bullshit.

Yes you ae right I did say that, but after all the insults I received on he streets of Nashville, I thought I would find a better way for my mental health to raise money for Ouch US. So Linda Howell and I had a grudge pool match at the convention. I will continue to think of ways to raise as much money as I can for both Ouch US and OUCH UK. ;;D

Jayne, thank you for all of your efforts to raise money for OUCH, and thank you for your willingness and enthusiasm for getting involved. If only more people had your fire and actually spent time DOING instead of whining or complaining over the Internet about what others are doing, what an amazing organization OUCH US could be.

Isn't finding a cure and helping others cope with Clusterheadaches what it's all about ?

Jayne you do a great job in helping the cause. If your contributions help people with ClusterHeadaches, I see no reason what-so-ever in complaining which organization you're helping because in the long run you've helped us ALL I just want to say thanks to Jayne and all the hard work she does (Not just U.S., but US ALL).

The Nashcon agenda was met in a professional manner during the day & early evening hours. All the partying was done during FREE TIME to members (both CH.com & OUCH) after OUCH sessions were over. After reading this post, to someone who was NOT in attendance, it looks like it was a free-for-all. That's NOT the way it was. Conventions are NOT just for knowledge from the pros, but from knowledge from all. We all share the same condition.

Geesh !!! Loosen up people !

ps: My donation was sent out today in you name Jayne. Thanks again to you. Don't let Chuck distract you next time. LOL

I haven't the faintest idea what this is all about, since I almost never pop my head (ex-clusterhead, that is) into the General Discussion forum anymore.

But I have followed the psilocybin (shroom treatment) saga from the early days here (and have been completely painfree for more than three years now because of it) and I can tell you that BobP was definitely one of the ones involved in generating serious interest in it when it was still little more than the unsupported reporting from Flash. A few convention goers from a few years ago were pretty pleased with Bob's hands-on interest in the magic fungus, as I recall.  

I have always considered it one of the cruelest of ironies that Bob himself is one of the very few who got no significant relief from the mushrooms. It just doesn't seem fair.

So maybe he's had some differences of opinion with some of the Clusterbuster crowd regarding what should be the extent of OUCH's role in the matter. Big whoop. It's not like he's actively trying to undermine us or anything. Far from it.

Note again that I have no idea whatsoever what prompted this thread -- I will leave all the other points untouched -- I am just saying that unless Bob has done something I missed, he hasn't hampered the efforts of Clusterbusters in their work that I know of.

I've been without cluster for over 2 1/2 years now but should be due to start again soon.  Got my stash of fungi in the freezer and will give it another go this time round.
