Title: Another Conventioner ... Post by ClusterChuck on Jul 22nd, 2004, 12:31am Ok, I KNOW I can do this! Let me move the ashtray across the room so the smoke stays out of my eyes. I have been reading posts all day, and that damn smoke kept getting in my eyes. WOW! What a weekend! I am SO glad I did not go to my cardio, as I know he would have kept me home. I felt good in the mornings, after some sleep, but then after some vicious visits from the beast, it would wear me out, where I would be too weak to stand. Then I would have to be back in that damn chair again. (Don’t tell that bratty kid of mine, but she was right to insist that I get one.) I just refuse to admit how weak those last few heart attacks have left me. I REFUSE to give in to them! The only bad thing about the whole time there, is that for the first few days, the beast kept up his normal visits. That embarrassed me, and upset me. I like to be alone when I get hit. Yet it seems I put on quite a show over at the Acorn restaurant. Yet on Sunday (I think it was) I actually got 7 ˝ hours PF!!!! That is UNHEARD of for me!!! WOOHOO!!! And I had only gotten hit ONCE that night! Of course that evening and night the bastard made up for it, but that is ok! I had that amazing PF time! Now how do I talk about meeting y’all in person? How can I put into words what this has meant to me? Some of you I had already met, and it was so great to see you again, but the rest of you? AWESOME!!! The ones that meant the most to me were .... .... No, I am not going to do that. You ALL mean the world to me! I am not going to name names. I will leave someone out, and that would devastate me so I will not name names. Next time, I am not sure I will stay as long as I did this year. Being one of the last to leave was very hard. It tore me up to say good bye to so many good people. I have had all day to think about it, and it has not gotten any easier. Damnit, that ashtray is way over there, and the smoke has found its way to my eyes ... must be the ceiling fan’s fault ... Chuck |

The Acorn - I will never forget, I have a profound memory of that and I would be there all over again. :-* Another experience that I ... hate to say, but I learned from being there, a number of things. You have such courage and vibrancy Chuck... and a love of life that I wish I had but a portion to speak of for myself. I was and am deeply moved in knowing you, and Steph, I don't even know how to explain the effect this all had on me. Just know you are greatly loved and appreciated here on this earth. Your ability to laugh and laugh with us in spite of obstacles is a blessing and an inspiration. I only hope that I was able to give some of that to you in return. Love, Pepper [smiley=hug.gif] |

Think your ashtray and ceiling fan are blowing all the way to Texas. Sorry you had such a rough time, but the nice folks at the Acron got a crash course in CH - with Charlie being our spokesman. At least everyone knew we were there. It was great meeting you and putting a face to a name and voice. And Steph -- what can I say? Give her a big hug for me. Damn smoke..... |
