Title: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by DaveHar on Jul 21st, 2004, 8:11pm OK, everyone up to this point has pointed out how great it was and I would like to change the tone just a little, well 180 deg. Please post to the things you didn't like or would have liked diffrently. PLEASE PEEPS!!! This is important. Leesa and I are trying to put together a little something that can be passed to next years hosts that will make it easier on them and if all we have is the good then our mistakes will be repeated. We understand we are opening up a can of worms but we feel that it is somthing that must be done in order to help the next convention be even better then this years. It is something that we hope will be passed on from year to year to make everyones life that much easier. Dave |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by Jimi on Jul 21st, 2004, 8:26pm The ONLY thing that I can think of was that I was really wanting to go somewhere where we could dance, or do a kareoke one night. I thought that they would have had that where we stayed on Saturday night, but they didn't.That wasn't anyones fault because they used to have that there where we stayed but had stopped it. I also noticed where everyone had a great time on the porch in NY last year, where there were guitars etc. But that has nothing to do with NashCon. Besides that, it was perfect. We had our own porch outdoors as a gathering place which I think is a must or we will all be scattered all over the place. But thats just me. Just because I like that, doesn't mean other do. If future conventions are like this one, it will be just fine. |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by Big Dan on Jul 21st, 2004, 8:43pm I got one.. Less filler, more thriller... ... naw-mean? Yeah... the education part is good... but 90% of what was presented to us is information that MOST of us already know... Don't kill it.. just bleed it a little... -Big Opinion |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by CarrieBethRN on Jul 21st, 2004, 8:51pm OK I know this is going to be reallllllllly unpopular.... But I think there are a few of us (and only a very few) who would prefer there not to have been smoking at the banquet! I can put up with the smoking everywhere else because I can go outside and take a breath or whatever, but inside a closed space like that it gets a little much. I know, I know. Not popular. I live with a family of smokers, so I know what it's like. But once in awhile...us non-smokers have to get our clean air fix too ;) Other than that..it was GREAT!! (Unless you can find a way to sue the pants off United Airlines on behalf of Dave and I!) Thanks you guys, Carrie :) |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by Luke63 on Jul 21st, 2004, 9:25pm All was fine with me...just perfect in my book!!!! But lemme think a while...I'll get back on this one. |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by Jeepgun on Jul 21st, 2004, 9:29pm I am a smoker, but I try not to inflict my habit on others, so I agree with Carrie's suggestion. Or maybe if there were smoking and non-smoking tables/sections? There's really nothing I would change about any of it, other than, next year, I am going to help out at the registration table, or wherever else I may be needed. |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by Cerberus on Jul 21st, 2004, 10:27pm What I have to say is NOT a direct reflection on the Job you, Lees and Jayne did. It IS a reflection of the hotel and its staff. Overall I think it was an outstanding success, one can never get enough of spending quality time with loved ones. The issues lied with the staff....They were rude and unaccomodating...we were there for a convention, the bar was closed 50% of the time and when it was open they not only dictated "the Rules" to people who were shelling out major cash in their direction but were slackers on the service as well. I dunno if its true that they could have lost their liquor licence or not....nor do I care. They were warned in plenty of time to have things ready to accomodate us. I had no problems otherwise with the event....The maid service were the nicest people on the entire staff....JMHO. Great Job DAVE, LEESA and JAYNE.....Fuckineh! Ramon |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by Jeepgun on Jul 21st, 2004, 10:33pm The wait-staff at the banquet was kick-ass, too! They did a wonderful job. The rest of the hotel staff came real close to angering me, and I would have made a bad scene, and probably would have ended up getting arrested. I've never been treated that rudely by anyone in a service profession. Those bastards can all kiss my ass. >:( |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by Kevin_M on Jul 21st, 2004, 10:53pm I liked the improvisional touch of starting the meeting two hours late Saturday morning so everyone had a chance to darn sox and iron clothes. Bhwaaaahhaaaa. Good thing for the great location, coffee needed something. Things seemed quite alright to me, but I had no contact with service, except Maria, my maid. Kevin M |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by cootie on Jul 21st, 2004, 11:13pm Yeah I agree about the bar staff and rules........got the big DUH award by me. I coulda got red neck with em myself when we got there when the bartender was dictateing his rules. (we jus got there....was tired and wanted a drink and to relax but the bar was closed till 4:00 pm) They wouldn't even fill a hotel glass for sumone with ice cuz they said they could loose there lisence.......huh ? So they TOOK IT.........like it was a crack pipe or sumthin. BUT......"none" of that reflects on the hosts and convention......you guys did a great job !! Guess an affordable resort with a porch and bring yer own still sticks in my head.......I AM NOT complaining......I loved the way it all was.......great time plus bein able to do the town was awesome !! Am I ramblin again......still burnt out from a fun time gone past Pam PS: the bartender told us the keroke dude cancel'd a while back and they didn't persue it |

So they had a bar somewhere there...... Actually the place was fine except for the bizarre thing they call a "sports bar." These guys need to spend some time at Buffalo, NY area sports bars. No goddam Karaoke crap allowed around Bills fans.. ::) and I'm not sure if they ever close unless the satellite dish is hit by a meteor...probably not even then. Just go out back and try to save the beer by making sure it doesn't go to waste. This has nothing to do with Dave, Leesa or Jayne. It does have a lot to do with what Ramon says. Strange place. Not bad though kids. You did a hell of a job on your honeymoon ::) I'll give them this though. They made me the best club sandwich I've had 6 months Charlle |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by Woobie on Jul 22nd, 2004, 12:28am Well, the waiter throwing the trash can at me.. that kinda pissed me off >:( (Good thing jonny didn't turn around on his bar stool to see that one!!!!) (Not the convention organizer's fault - LOL) I dont even know if this is POSSIBLE anywhere... but I think it would be nice to have something like the banquet room - 24/7 where we can drink and smoke and be loud - order pizza - do our own kareoke - play the guitar and harmonica.... without ANYONE telling us we cant drink - we cant make noise - we cant have mountain dew >:( - we cant drink after a certain time - we cant be here, we cant be there, we cant have men dress in drag... we cant have fun. Now, I dont know if this is possible - but wouldn't it be nice?? Porch, atrium, Patio, big meeting room - whatever ... i just would like to be left alone - so we dont get introuble.... and we can do what we want. No complaints towards Lisa, Dave or Jayne. Ya'll did wonderfully! OK - i'm done.... ;;D Oh yeah, and it wasn't LONG enough. :( I sure do miss you guys! :-[ tina :-* who HATES getting in twubble |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by ClusterChuck on Jul 22nd, 2004, 12:42am Well, enough of all this sweet talking bull shit! I got a complaint AGAINST the organizers of this shindig! The only people that you invited there were a bunch of whinning, boring, unemotional, humorless, bumps on a log! There was never anything to talk about, NOTHING in comon with these idiots, and I think every one of them, deep down, are snake oil salesmen! Who would EVER want to go to another one of these things again??? ME ME ME!!!!! Chuck PS: Besides that, you told the beast where the convention was. You were suppose to keep that sumabitch away! |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by BillyJ. on Jul 22nd, 2004, 2:18am I'd have to say that Woobie's right(can't believe I said that LOL)Again this has nothing to do with the organizers. What we want is a place were we can do what we want, when we want without worrying about breaking any rules or offending anyone.Give us a place to 'shit, shower and shave, sleep is optional, and we'll take care of the rest.I think that was the best thing about the setting last year,we had room to do our thing,to be us. Dave,Leesa,Jayne, you all did a great job,we thank you and are in your debt for all you did. |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by ozzy on Jul 22nd, 2004, 4:28pm Going back to with Big Dan said, as far as the presentations. Also, due to the highly technical nature of the content, and because even those of us that are NOT on Topomax, we forget a lot of information. Handouts, paper copies of the presentations, etc would be very helpful. Ozzy |

Title: Re: Nashcon question from Leesa and Dave Post by bobkip on Jul 22nd, 2004, 5:05pm First the sugar. Jayne, Leesa, Dave. Fantastic job. Thanks. Now the salt. A place to call our own without some whiney-assed bar man worrying about his license. The not a very nice person didn't even know how to unlock the patio door when the place was open. The food was good but the variety sucked. A full service resturant would be nice for us walking wounded. Kip |
