Title: Dad's Angel Post by Cathi04 on Jul 20th, 2004, 6:59pm I fell in love with a young woman at convention this past weekend. She is beautiful, funny, sensitive, caring and quite mature for her age. As I first joined the gang on the porch on Fri morning..I was overwhelmed by the crowd of faces I was able to put names to. I went through the entire group...the requisite hugs and kisses all around...one female sat quietly in a chair, wrapped in her shawl, taking it all in, but saying nothing...I was so caught up in the whole crowd, I noticed her, but put her on the back burner, figuring she was here with one of the sufferers, and I would have time to meet her eventually. She seemed shy. I kept looking at this young woman, shiny hair, sparkly eyes, shy smile peeking out occasionally..again, I pushed it back... Chuck appeared on the scene, and of course I had to greet him.....and shortly after that...this same woman appeared by his side. Well, talk about a lightbulb.............this was no lady....This was Stephanie!!! This young lady has shown the depth of her love for her dad....she KNOWS what he goes through, she HELPS him..when he will let her, and she is constantly interested in his health and well-being...she even spends time online searching for something new for him to try..so badly she wants him PF! For the weekend, it was our intent to let her be a freewheeling wild child...truth be told, she did seem to have fun, but she was never far from her dad. Stephanie has been working a plan which just might give her dad some real PF time. She succeeded this weekend, and the plan is being put in motion. Steph, I loved my time with you...I amv wearing my new skirt as we speak....and I believe I blame YOU for being stuck in the pool during Dave and Leesa's wedding....but I hope you had a bit of a respite this weekend.........and I think you are DA BOMB!!! I love ya Steph, and I want you to know the door is open if you EVER wish to visit Portland....Chuck? Could ya spare her for a bit? Can I get 3 cheers for our ClusterAngel Steph, please? Cathi..applauding as I type... :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* |

She is devoted to her dad and I know she enjoyed the weekend as well. How in the world Chuck had anything to do with that birth is beyond me. |

Title: Re: Dad's Angel Post by Melissa on Jul 20th, 2004, 8:22pm OMG is Steph awesome!! I could so relate to her and she is a wonderful young lady. (shit, I'm starting to show my age ::)) How she puts up with her Dad is beyond me....OK, I think I know what it is, the love and humor between the two of them is remarkable. That is hard to come by nowdays, and it was great to see their relationship in action. I hope that I can have such a great bond like that with my kids as they get older. Anyway, Steph, it was nice to meet you and I hope to see you again in the future. You rock kid! ;) :)mel |

Title: Re: Dad's Angel Post by Peppermint on Jul 21st, 2004, 11:35am Stephanie, I still can't believe your only 16 kiddo, you are mature beyond your years. Never heard a 16 year old say that her dad can't embarrass her if he tried. :D Then again, I'm sure living with dear ole Dad has been an adventure. There was nothing like getting a hug and a mischievous chuckle from you whenever you happened to walk by. You know you made me cry when it was time to leave, its all your fault. Chuck you have done an amazing job with Steph. You should be proud!! Love you both, Pepper |
