Beginning Jul 21st, I'll be unemployed. My last little ray of hope in being able to remain in the military has burnt out. It sucks losing 13 years towards a 20 year retirement.

On the bright side, the job market looks pretty promising for me, and I am financially able to ride out a 5-6 month employment slump if necessary.

We'll see what the future brings...

sorry chris. dont you still gt som of that money at retirement? And was it a medical discharge?

I don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but I'm working on my fourteenth month unemployed. You probably won't have any problems, though.

Crap Chris that sucks, sorry to hear about it but glad to hear the job market may be on the up and up for you!!!

I just looked at where you live!

Take a fuckin vacation!

Goto the beach somewhere and hang out and relax a bit...

My Dad own's a rental condo (nice 2 BR) right on Pensacola Beach. Let me know and I'll get you hooked up. He's retired military and always wants his military discount! I'd bet I can get him to give you one!

Serious offer.... I've been through ALL of NM, and you ain't in the pretty part... :(

Wow. I bet that seems scarey at the moment.
But it might not be all bad. When doors close, we are compelled to open new doors and sometimes we find that behind them is something better than we ever dreamed.
I think a bit of a break's a great idea. Take time out from everything and see which door you want to open.
One thing Prense, if you are self employed, you never have to answer to an unsymapthetic boss ever again!
Might be worth a ponder.
