Ree,
The only fix will probably be to reinstall IE.

Do that and what ever you are using to post this, keep using it.

I restart my computer for "alot" of that error crap and have even had it so bad it wouldn't even shut down and had to kill the power surge switch. This new one is better tho......all it does is overheat and beep and is slower then me in the mornings.

This has always got me unstuck. Press ctrl, alt, del, all at the same time, should reboot your machine. Sort of elementary but worth a try. Wndows XP will give you a choice of applications to close rather than reboot.

I agree with Paul, a re-install of IE is simple and the current version already has SP1 bundled with it. Go here (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&DisplayLang=en) and follow the instructions. It SHOULD not be difficult.....happy surfing.

Follow up with success or any more problems.

If you go to google.com and type in your error message it will bring up a list of links that will explain what the error is and what you can do to fix the problem...

Good Luck !

nollat....welcome to the board!

Google (http://www.google.com/) usually works.....but not always...look here (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=0x00973d70&btnG=Google+Search). M$ uses Google to search it's OWN site. I hear Brain Cramps may have the "Book of Secret Codes" but I have yet to confirm this. I have the occasional memory error that eludes detection.....sigh...the joys of M$. XP has around 45 million lines of code and it is getting pretty bloated.....but the average joe likes the bells and whistles.

A complete windows reinstall might not hurt either...
