I have been doing it for bout 10 years and think it is the biggest rush in the world. I do it at tracks or on the street (not in town.....we have lots of backroads in Ky) and was just wondering if anyone else on here is into fast cars. ;)

I used to be into drag racing, but I ran out of make-up! ;;D and besides I broke the heel on my favorite pair of pumps. LMAO

Just messin with ya.

Used to race on the street (Nova) but the fines got to be too expensive and the insurance was a killer :-/

I still dig it though!

Back in the day, I was into drag racing. Did the street thing too back when it wasn't considered a capital offense.

I then moved to crewing in oval track and haven't messed with the straight line stuff in years.

Now my favorite saying is...... "Drag racing is like teenage sex, it's over too quick." ;;D Just joking.....I long for those days of taking people's money and grinning when asked "What the hell you got in that thing?"

I used to work for a company called 'Phantom Performance' (or 'PREformance' as the sign said). We had an old AMX with a 514 block in it that we took out weekly to Keystone raceway. We consistantly turned high 11's with that monster. We also took a '72 'cuda with a 340 six pack in it. That was more for show though.

Once when the boss was out of town, we installed some line locks on his Dodge Ram (had a 360 in it) and took it to the track...came in just over 16 seconds.

I understand the getting caught thing. 2 years ago, we made our wonderful town (according to the state police), the hottest street racing scene in the state. They made out a list of peeps they wanted to catch and I was #2 on the list. Yall are probably thinkin "he's full of shit but a bunch of us saw the list(thanks to one of our "inside friends"). 1 of my best friends was number one and another was number 3. They got busted racing each other and wound up in a lot of shit. Lucky for me, I blew my motor not long after that. I layed low for a bit b4 even thinking bout getting back out. They paid some hefty fines, spent a night in jail, and lost their liscenses for 6 months.

Did a lot of street racing when I lived in So Cal many years ago. Drove a GTO then. But, too many points against my driving record. Too many hours in driving school to remove the points only to build them back up again. Had to give it up. :'(
Right now I'm building a Pro Street '27 T roadster. When it's done I'll go suck the doors off a a few Corvettes.

Yup you got it Bill.....got a few friends that do it and a blast to go watch em.....they also do the ice raceing. Did a little of that drag raceing tonite while out with freinds ridein......bad bad baaaad Brad !!! Whump-paaaaaaa !!!

Somea the fairgrounds around here have it.....it's a curcuit that goes all over the state. Really cool.......just made the one not long ago and had a great time in the pits. Good place ta get dirty.......until the water truck comes by.......ohhh that felt so good !!! We got soaked !

I used to go to all of the Gatornationals NHRA events in Gaineville, Florida growing up. My dad was the director of Medical for the Gatornationals, so I got in free.
