Title: Med overload... vent... thanks for listening Post by Tiannia on Jul 6th, 2004, 5:29pm OK guys - Here I ended up with acute bronchitis again. Hell I was finally starting to get better for about a month and it all went to shit again. Then on top of the cough syrup and antibiotics, the neuro puts me on prednisone and I have officially started swelling up like I was 2 years ago and 8 months pregnant. Now the docs want to to take some sort of anxiety med to assist with me getting to sleep cause they say that I am making the HA worse cause I lie awake (I really dont try to, I am exhausted but I just lay there, with my back spasming) and wonder when the hell it will be time to get up and get realy for work. I get up as needed with the beast and then lay back down again and dont even think about it anymore. It is just part of the night. Right now I am about ready to just say fuck it all and stop all fo the damn meds. Sit back with my coltsfoot and horehound in my pot pipe and clear out my lungs myself and clean all of this shit out of my body. After almost 2 weeks I feel worse, even thorugh this is all supposed to make me better. I know that it is stupid to not make sure that a doctor takes care of you when you are sick, but still it is frustrating. Thanks Clusterville. You all are always in my thoughts. -Tia |

Coltsfoot and horehound are two types of herbs (actually roots) that can be ground up and shedded and work as an expectorant for lungs. You can either stream them and inhail the furms over a large vat of hot water with a towel over your head, or you can smoke them. I have smoked them directly before when I had pneumonia and the doc wanted to put me in the hospital (which I could not afford- so I talked them into giving me a week to clear out my lungs on my own) or you can burn them an incense and inhail the fumes that way. Just some holistic medicinal medicine that I wish I could find ANYTHING that would assist witht he HA in any way shape or form, but alas no leads yet. :( But I keep looking. Not my favorite form on incense to make, but it works when needed. I Have a whole foot locker full of herbs, flowers, bark, ect just because I hate store bought incense, they are useless and dont work. There is nothing like making your own. ;) -Tia |

Title: Re: Med overload... vent... thanks for listening Post by nosfed01stang on Jul 8th, 2004, 12:14pm If they are pushing the meds for you to go to sleep, tell the doc you want Trazadone. It is non habit forming and works wonders putting you to sleep and relaxing you. Soma will do the same or both of them together will make you sleep right through the night. If you try to do it on your own......I wish you the best of luck. I know not being able to sleep sucks. Wish you the best of luck. On thinking about situation a little more........just come off the meds all together and look into the herbal stuff you are talking about. I went through the "alot of meds" thing a long time ago and come to find out it was the meds that kept me feeling like shit. |
