Title: New member of the family
Post by catlind on Jul 4th, 2004, 2:31am
Clark and I have added to the family.  We are now the proud parents of Alex, Andrea, Ayden, Wiley, Zoomie and puppy x :)

We seem to have run into a problem coming up with a name for the little critter though, so I am asking for some suggestions from my extended family here at ch.com :)

Names considered so far are Milo (that's Ayden's pick), Echo, Cisco, Psilo and Cybin.

I don't think the pup would appreciate the "Cat" part, but you could use LINDY.

Name it, "Stay." ;;D

All of my Jeep buddies have dogs that are named things like, Spicer, Dana, Atlas, Swamper, 4-Lo, etc. ;;D

Personally, if I had a dog, I'd name it, "D'juphart." ;;D (Say it over and over to yourself a few times, turning it into a question, and the meaning will become clear) ;;D

LOL some good suggestions there!  The pup is a male, and he's supposed to be an australian cattle dog (blue/red/queensland heeler).

He has lots of personality, is afraid of the cats, does a great job 'herding' Ayden (who is just turning 4) and seems to be rather intelligent.

We considered calling him Molson too, but somehow he doesn't quite seem like a Canadian beer hehe.

I like Milo too. Austrailian Cattle dog?  Joey comes to mind but even I don't like it. Dingo is an Aussie dog. A tricky breed if I recall.  Not sure that would float either.

Do us a favor though and lay off the far eastern religious shrines. I have enough friends who search Buddist temples and the like looking for stuff that I have to look up so I can find a nickname.   ::)

They all are sooo cute.   8)

Congratulations Cat, Clark and family!
A big welcome to the new puppy!
What a cute little bundle of cuddles!
I like Milo! Suits him but you could always call him Skippy!!
tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk    ;;D

BTW
Some time ago Phillips released a TV down here called a K9.
Our friend bought one and proudly showed it off.
Friend: "Do you like my new K9?"
Mopar  "Its a dog  isn't it?"
Friend was NOT impressed.

Once there was a burglar breaking into people’s houses on a street in St. Louis.

One night, he broke into one family’s house, while they were away on vacation.  Inside this house, the family had a large parrot.

The burglar saw the parrot, ignored it, and started rummaging through the living room.  Suddenly, the parrot flew into the living room, and said to the burglar, “Jesus is watching you… SQUARRK!”…

The man looked at the parrot,  and then walked ingo the  kitchen, taking all the fine silver.  Again, the parrot flew in, and said “Jesus is watching you… SQUARRK.”

Again… he ignored the parrot, and went into the owners bedroom, looking for jewelry.  The parrot, once again, flew in and said “Jesus is watching you… SQUARRK”.

This time, the burglar threw a vase at the parrot, making it fly away.  And the burglar went back to taking jewelry.

When he had finished taking what he wanted, the man started toward the back door of the house, when in his path was a 130 pound Pit Bull.

The parrot flew into the hallway and said “Sic him, Jesus…. SQUARRK!”

SCRAPS

I once was watching one of those home video shows. It showed a young guy pulling up and going into a convienence store to get his girl a flower. He had his dog named Scraps with him. When he went in the store he left the pick-up truck running with the dog in the truck. I don't know if this deal was set up or not but somehow the dog got the truck in gear. The next thing you see is Scraps standing in the driver's seat, paws on the steering wheel driving across a field. Luckily, the truck wasn't going very fast because it was finally stopped by a tree. SCRAPS was OK! I dunno- maybe Scraps was jealous of his master's girl friend!

Anyway Cat, I think Scraps would be a cool name, but if you decide to name him that, just don't leave the motor running if you leave him in the car!

Thanks everyone for the input :)

I am still undecided on the names, but Clark seems to think it's going to be cisco because he rounds things up and directs them where they should be just like a router.  We'll see who wins the naming battle ;) hehe

I have a heeler/sheppard mixed dog named Cali (for Calico)...
Whatever you name it, you might consider getting it professionally trained... Soon you will both realize who is smarter and that's when the trouble starts!  [smiley=laugh.gif]

I had a friend who drove his wife crazy saying he was gonna name his twin daughters Shitonya and Pissonya.  He was just kidding, but she just didn't have a sense of humor about it.  The daughters got boring normal names, but he did end up naming a couple puppies that.  His wife still cringed, but gave in on the pups.

Of all the names suggested the worst one came from my mother:

Middle name Nuff

First name possibles:  Fairy Nuff, Haddie Nuff, Toughie Nuff

*groan*

Thanks all, it seems he's going to be cisco, and he is either very intelligent, or very stupid, the jury is still out hehe.
