Title: Re: Chemical weapons find in IRAQ Post by don on Jul 3rd, 2004, 10:09pm Well DUH ? They didn't name the guy Chemicle Ali cause he was throwing mud balls. The theory that we went to war for oil is out the window. $2.09 a gallon. Fucken shit should be free. |

Title: Re: Chemical weapons find in IRAQ Post by Charlie on Jul 4th, 2004, 12:37am It wouldn't surprise me to find that this is some crap that we sold them to use on Iran. Oil may have been a side interest but I don't think it was the major reason. Once the war began, getting away with something really big in oil alone probably diminished. The whole world has interest in it, not just us. Charlie |

Title: Re: Chemical weapons find in IRAQ Post by stevegeebe on Jul 4th, 2004, 9:33am I don't give a shit if it is about the oil! Picture western civilization where a radical "leader" has seized control of the spigot of the entire middle eastern oil fields. If I hate the west, for whatever reason, what better way to bring the entire northern hemisphere to it's collective knees. If you doubt that this is their goal, than go stick your head back in the sand. But before you do make sure you've collected lots of fire wood. Oil=economy=power. Steve G |

Title: Re: Chemical weapons find in IRAQ Post by Charlie on Jul 4th, 2004, 3:20pm It was during the oil crisis in the seventies that somebody interviewed a political pundit (I think he was British) about the fact that the Arabs had so much control of the spigot. The interviewee said--pretty close to this: "Won't it be nice when we have less dependance on this oil and we can once again relegate these countries back to the relative obscurity to which they belong?" That was pretty true back then, less so now but it would certainly will be nice. Charlie |

Title: Re: Chemical weapons find in IRAQ Post by Rock_Lobster on Jul 4th, 2004, 4:10pm Look at the pictures of those shells... they are ancient... nothing recent there. Even the administration is not crowing 'we found WMDs!' about this lame discovery. Sarin was discovered 50+ years ago by Nazi Germany. Today pretty much any 2nd rate country can make a bundle of it with about the same level of technology that I have in my home heat pump. This is not the scale of WMD's that we went to war over, and yes, this sh1t is probably all over the place in Iraq. |

Title: Re: Chemical weapons find in IRAQ Post by Jeepgun on Jul 4th, 2004, 5:56pm I agree, Charlie. America and Europe need to get off of the petroleum crack-pipe and tell the middle east to go fuck themselves. I don't know anyone who would accept a barrel of crude oil as currency in a store. As for the WMD's, I'm more concerned about what we HAVEN'T found. He had over ten years to scatter that shit all over the black market and smuggle it to Syria, Egypt, and other warm, sandy places where people in turbans have a primitive way of disagreeing with people who don't wear turbans. |
