Title: Re: Prednisone Post by Samantha_Smith on Jul 1st, 2004, 8:28pm Prednisone is like a super duper big anti inflammatory drug that makes you want to eat the everything in the fridge and then the fridge itself. After you've accomplished that then you'll sit in the closet alone with a flashlight and cry yourself to sleep as you read "Winnie The Pooh". In a few days your face will be the size of the moon and your back will ache as if you've menstruated for every women on the planet all at once. Soon your headaches will start to go away but you'll still need to keep taking this $%^^&*#@ super duper big anti inflammatory steroid drug. Some day you'll be watching the sports news and hear about idiot athletes who actually WANT to take steriods to increase their performance by .003 seconds and you'll laugh your a** off. (Yes, am aware that the steroids atheletes take are a bit different but still...pa-leeeez!!!) Before you know it your Prednisone cycle will be done and you'll have about 17 arrest warrants to run from and when the cops come to pick you up you'll say," But all I did was take Prednisone. I don't remember anything after that first dose of 6 pills." Does that clear things up for you? |

Title: Re: Prednisone Post by mystorm on Jul 1st, 2004, 8:38pm I was actually on it for several weeks. I didn't have the weight gain but couldn't sleep for anything. My right hand still shakes from it and I have been off it for weeks. |

Title: Re: Prednisone Post by catlind on Jul 1st, 2004, 9:06pm My girlfriend had a shirt made for me after my first round on pred - "I'm not fat I'm on prednisone, what's YOUR problem?" Of course it did take care of my head, I just didn't know why at the time. This time around, the medrol they used was less time and lower doses than the pred, and today was a blessed pain free day. Perhaps the DHE and Medrol have worked wonders anyway?? My murderous streak seems to have passed and the medrol doses are done, today I cleaned the house within an inch of it's life and I'm hoping I'll get to sleep tonight before 4 a.m. Ahh the joys of steroids...only minor side effects, possible kidney failure, diabetes, weight gain, severe mood swings, night sweats, sleep disorders, BUT your head won't hurt while you suffer the same side effects (with the exception of the diabetes) that you get with CH. That's my story and I'm stickin to it, I can't be held responsible, I was on prednisone :) Cat |

Title: Re: Prednisone Post by Lizzie2 on Jul 1st, 2004, 9:45pm Uuuuuuuuuughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh thankfully (I guess!) for right now I still have extreme nausea and vomiting from good lord knows what, so I'll also be starting compazine 4 times a day till Monday. Maybe I won't be as hungry this time around on the pred with all those bad feelings going on already! On my pharmacology exam today, there was a question saying something like "True or False, Corticosteroids (Prednisone, Salumedrol) have adverse effects on all body systems." Anyone know the answer? I put false....all body systems? I know the drug is evil, but....I didn't think ANY drug had effects on every single system!! Hrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... Lizzie :P |

Fuckin eh... I got it REAL BAD! It took almost 2 months to completely clear up! Chest, neck, the sides of my head and somewhat on my back looked like I had small pox or some shit. I guess they were just zits, but they definitely were not of the ordinary zit persuasion.... I'd reccomend using acne medication in advance as a preventative just in case. Seriously, it's bad if it happens... |
