Title: Headache sufferer identification card Post by Roxy on Jun 30th, 2004, 1:05pm Just thought some people might be interested in this information. It's from the National Headache Foundation website. This is what it says, and the link to the site. Quote:

Title: Re: Headache sufferer identification card Post by Roxy on Jun 30th, 2004, 1:31pm I wish I could Thomas, I'm going to miss everyone..... :'(. My husband's company has offered me a temporary job working on an environmental study for Shell Oil. They are going to pay for my hotel and are offering me an obscene amount of money. Way, way too much to pass up......besides the fact that it's in NEW ORLEANS!!!! Only problem is, no days off. If something happens, I'll be in Nashville, but right now, it's looking like a no go. |

Title: Re: Headache sufferer identification card Post by BarbaraD on Jun 30th, 2004, 8:18pm Think that card is a neat idea. Gonna order mine. Do you think the ER PEOPLE can READ it? :P Gonna miss you in Nashville Tracey. But NO/Nashville - Nashville/NO -- oh heck it's a toss up. But watch out for the Hurricaines! They're bad this time of year.... ;;D Hugs BD |

Title: Re: Headache sufferer identification card Post by UN_SOLVED on Jul 1st, 2004, 3:37pm I think a card like this is a good idea ... but how many ER docs are going to take it seriously ? I've had my neuro write scripts for certain treatments and meds to be taken with me to the ER. He's even called in before I was to arrive. I still had to go through all the same stuff and wait forever. :( A card like this might come in handy during a KIP 10 though !! Unsolved |

Title: Re: Headache sufferer identification card Post by Roxy on Jul 1st, 2004, 5:37pm Unsolved, I'm hoping this one will make a bigger difference than a homemade one, if just because it comes from the National Headache Foundation. It may or may not, but it's better than nothing....LOL. Just shove it in their faces while you're screaming at them..... ;;D. |

Agreed, UN. We need a different name for this... get the 'HEADACHE' out of 'CLUSTER HEADACHES'. That should be on the schedule for the convention... rename this shit. My mother-in-law is visiting... mentioned yesterday 'Aunt Sandy has those headaches too'. I said 'Gtf out of here! Clusters? No shit?'. She replied 'Yes... migraines.' I just finished stuffing the last of the bitch down the garbage disposal. Wrokk |

In the day of demerol and such it probably would not help a lot. Now that there are non-narcotic treatments like O2 and Imitrex it may speed up your assesment time, maybe they wont shine that fucking flashlight in your eyes! Lee |
