Title: Cluster Headache and Cryptorchidism (und. Testes)
Post by smeee on Jun 29th, 2004, 5:59pm
Are there any members who have had an undescendant testicle or hypospadias at birth. and at what age did you start to suffer from your headaches? This is a serious question and it may all relate back to the hypothalamic dysfunction.

Maybe it's like the old joke about why dogs sniff every dog's butt.  You see they had this dog convention and they had to leave their as ses outside and there was a fire and in the confusion.....well you can imagine...each is still trying to find his own....

God that's an old joke.....sorry.

A review of hormonal findings in cluster headache. Evidence for hypothalamic involvement.

   Leone M, Bussone G.

Department of Neurology, Carlo Besta Neurological Institute, Milan, Italy.

The cause of cluster headache remains to be determined. The involvement of peripheral neurovascular structures can explain the pain and autonomic signs of a cluster attack, but not its rhythmicity. The central theory of cluster headache attributes the cyclic recurrence to involvement of the hypothalamus. To evaluate hypothalamic dysfunction a number of hormone studies have been carried out on cluster headache patients. Alterations in plasma melatonin, cortisol, testosterone, gonadotrophins, prolactin, growth hormone and thyrotropin have been documented, some only in the cluster period but others in the remission phase of the illness. We believe that the hormonal abnormalities in cluster headache support disorders of hypothalamic function.

Hehehe Charlie!!  Thanks for answering some questions about my dog's behaviour.  I was starting to wonder!!!  Last year he got bit on the ear by a female dog because he was sniffing at her.  We can't let him near other dogs because of his sexual behaviour!  He's neutered, too!!  Bwahahahaha!!!

L2 :)

Smee, all clusterheads have three balls. All my balls dropped some time ago, however I will check again.....................yup all there and down ::) For the record Clusters started approximately 10 years after the ball drop ::)

Sean..........

Smeee just curious how many balls do you have?

I saw 2 balls drop in New York City once. I think it was on New Years.
I was looking through the bottom of a shot glass at the time.

But back to the subject at hand. My balls dropped on time and have remained there ever since. One is a little lower than the other one. Maybe that is why I get shadows.

I'm getting some cortisol pills.

Smeee,
a) one can have hypothalamus disfunction without the other condition; the way it looks now ALL of us have
b) one can be a lady or other female and so have no balls to drop
c) there are more hormones than the sex hormones that could all contribute to hypothalamus disfunction...
d) it may very well be that the conditions you describe are caused in part  by a malfunctioning hypothalamus, but it is not necessarily the other way round.

Being b) no, my balls did not drop, no I do not have a third testicle but yes, I do have cluster headaches...
